Is it Safe to Camp on the Streets of Mexico City in Your Van?

You're lucky because you were in a neighborhood that seems upscale with even an Embassy but a lady vlogger from Canada nearly got shot by a holdupper in one place kinda suburbs because as she was walking on an elevated ramp beside the busy street where cars, buses ply, she was not aware that there were group of 4 young & older men walking along with her below under the elevated ramp where there's a village. So she was puzzled people in vehicles were giving her hand signs which she couldn't understand. Apparently one of the men came up and running towards her back & a few steps as she turned, ordered her at gunpoint to give her camera and purse. To her suprise, instead of running away, she run towards the guy, she was a tall beautiful blond, pushed him, & luckily a bus was passing and she quickly boarded. When she was back at the hotel, that was when her emotions exploded and even in front of camera she wept. She has gone to many places was uneventful but that incident happened in broad daylight. Much recently on her vlog after 6 months travelling, while discussing about the hard conditions of renting & high standards of living now in Canada, in passing she said, turned out when she went home that previous time when the incident happened, she even had to consult a doctor because she was so traumatized, and didn't want to travel anymore. Good her mental health became fine & was able to go & returned just recently.
