As an indonesian i have to once again thank my former leader soeharto who instead of opting to do what the junta does. he stepped down knowing a messy power struggle that would have ensued if he chose to keep his grip on power. i am feeling sorry for myanmar, the junta could have simply just followed what soeharto did as they have always closely learnt from his successes. I visited the country in 08 and 18. the decade difference was enormous. there was no internet, only a few 4 star hotels and bogyoke market as the biggest shopping center in 08. fast forward 10 years and 4 star hotels are everywhere, about 5 modern shopping malls, and most importantly we got the internet and i was able to travel around the city easily using google maps on foot and by ride sharing. I feel sorry for the people of myanmar just when i thought they were in the right direction the junta drag them down again too soon. Honestly i wont really be thanking him for stepping down. He simply did that becasue he no longer had the support from both the military and the parliament, even his closest allies in his government. I think Myanmar case is even worse, since it's the whole military junta having their grasp in every branch of the government, making it impossible to hold a democratic government since the military can just easily invalidate the result of a democratic election. If any, you should be 'thanking' Gen. Wiranto of Indonesian Army instead for not taking over the government upon the power vacuum as the result of Soeharto's resignation, even if he had the chance and power to do so. Myanmar has been facing internal disputes for decades. One of the remaining, critical questions is that if the junta government for example hands over its power to the Myanmar people, will internal conflicts/disputes still exist? For decades, even during the elected democratic party was in power/administration, there were also many internal issues such as the problem of Rohingya, ethnic and other social groups trying to separate from the central government for their own independence, so on and so forth. In short, Myanmar does not only have problems with the junta, but also internal political and territorial disputes that have lasted for years. The local people need to focus more on addressing their own problems, rather than blaming others and/or external parties. All people's unity is the basic need. As a neighbour, may i bless Myanmar with peace, unity, security and prosperity, and i do hope things in Myanmar get better soon 🙏

Myanmar military never has a complete control over those areas and i wondered what made China pushed the button to approve the act of 1027 . Myanmar military never liked Chins but Myanmar has never choices. Now Russia is favoring Myanmar in these past months. I have no doubt that this will absolutely do nothing. Now AA can't support the whole Rakhine and so do for other ethic armed groups. Both of the soldiers from ethic armed groups are the usual Framers or wagers( not for AA I guess. AA always has so much soldiers that it is not able to support the whole chain). This is not sustainable for both sides. This definitely asked a lot of questions to upper seniors of Myanmar military's .

From the looks of it, the rebels' priority right now is to sever the Tatmadaw's logistics coming from any external country bordering Myanmar so as to impede the junta. That, coupled with corruption in the Junta, could be the perfect recipe for its collapse.

I think you should be aware that, the military under the ASSK government was in itself a rogue entity, it doesn't answer to civilians, it also held control of crucial departments in the government even though they weren't voted on to those offices(immigration, defense, etc...). What's sad is that the Rohinja are not the only ones being discriminated against, but also numerous other ethnicities who also happen to be christian, of course it doesn't fit your agenda(of the western media's). You should also look up on the massacre of 99 Hindu women under the Rohinja militants and the Rohingya's kidnapping and beheadeding of Buddhist monks, which you could say these are some of the factors that sparked the genocide which unfortunately targeted people nothing to do with those attacks.

Myanmar was forcefully "made "into a country by the British, however, with the nullification of the treaty that formed the Federation of Burma in the 1948 (by the Central Government themselves), the legitimacy of Myanmar no longer existed, and all provinces automatically revert back to their original state of self-government and sovereignty. Any military attack on these independent provinces therefore is an act of aggression.

Military still never learnt any lessons. Just to used power and soldiers to crush the people with different ethnic background will not help at all. They should learn from their neighbours like Thailand which have multi ethnic societies and yet they can co-exist with each other. Modernized Thailand. But Myanmar is really backwards and that's the prob. Military might will not help in long term.

Vietnam also has 54 ethnic groups coexisting, and the government is making every effort to ensure social security and support for minority ethnic groups. At the Vietnamese point of view, I see that the Myanmar military government enjoys many privileges and economic benefits. That is a reason why Aung San Suu Kyi cannot control the situation, unable to use the military force to maintain security, and difficult to unify Myanmar when there are too many regional warlords.

Not a bad analysis and presentation of the resistance and 11027 operation. Foreign media usually misinterpret and miscommunicate current Myanmar issues. Even on this one, Enze Han and South China seems to presume that the resistence forces will not likely march into Myanmar heartland. Under normal circumstances it's absolutely true. However, this time most of the PDF (people defence force and the army of NUG) is composed from Bamar people and they largely operate in Magway, Mandalay and Sagaing regions which are predominantly Bamar people. Being the rookie armed group in Myanmar, PDF struggles to take down cities from the Junta but slowly they are making progress since they have taken towns in Burma proper such Kawlin, Khampat, Shwe Pyi Aye and Amone.
