It takes a new Ghanaian in the UK 5 to 10 years to find their footings. So coming to Ghana from anywhere will also take time to settle.

If you want to move to Ghana and stay, 1). bring/get lots of money to cushion yourself while you figure things out 2. Understand that you are in GH to stay, that vacation mentality needs to be dropped. Think about building something for you first, then enjoy later 3. There will be a lot of learning and unlearning to be done. Don’t expect things to be like where you come from. You will have to adjust lots of times 4. Learn to fit in.

And know that your plane ticket's cost is some peoples salary for half or the whole year there...so be prepared to deal w/ possible scams and dont fall or rush in love w/ a native that might actually just be after what they can get from you, especially if you are a *foreigner* from US/UK. Just being honest/stating the facts. All love.

Nothing wrong with taking your time in moving.I've been working on my move for 2 years already...been back and forth twice in that time. Something Makedah might want to consider for her website, is to highlight the opportunities available for diaspora investors and ppl wanting to move, and then offer her services for business registration/consulting or whatever. A lot of these "headaches" can be turned into opportunities.

She came to her own on the topic of business/entrepreneurship. I feel she knows what she wants, it's just the financing of it that is pushing her a bit (only guessing). Ghana is paradise when you can afford it.

Nice one. I love the honesty. You definitely need an open mind when making the move, because being a tourist and being an everyday resident are two different things. When you come with an open mind, knowing that everywhere has its imperfections and you must learn to adjust accordingly, you'll have a better chance at thriving eventually. You need tonnes of patience and a willingness to make it work. At the end of the day though, do what's best for you. Leaving doesn't make you weak - and staying doesn't make you strong. Knowing what's best for you and acting on that is what makes you a real winner.

I assume an issue for many people moving to the continent is financial stability. You need money no matter where you live in this world. Starting a business is difficult everywhere too. However, I admire those who are brave enough to try. It's my prayer to be able to move to Africa soon to escape the escalating racism. My only hesitation is the Quality of healthcare as an older person.

You need to establish your own business and home before moving to Ghana! It’s the same to us moving to the west, it wasn’t easy when I moved to Europe and in America 🇺🇸! Good interview But some of the KZbinrs should use their platform to interview some of the government officials eg the HEALTH MINISTER, EDUCATION MINISTER 🙄 , ROAD MINISTER 🙄 ETC and ask them questions about the things they're putting in place to better those areas. I feel like this issues are very important. You can't just say people should come and when basic things like things are not well placed. Thank you

Very interesting video and informations on living abroad not only in Africa. There are challenges to over come wherever we live. I moved from a big city to an island and got stranded in paradise for a long unplanned trip because of the pandemic. Living in paradise is a different story. I am in the same situation leave or stay? I think when you are very young it's the time to use your energy to explorer your passion and use your God given talents. I have traveled and lived in many countries before and were able to bring some of my dreams true. I took sometime out to reflect and relax now I feel I want to do and see more where I am is too small and slow. In your conversation I got the feeling you need to maybe live in the city and not the countryside maybe more opportunities before giving up??

Crime in Jamaica is relative to whom one associates with. One is more likely to get ki lled in the USA just by going to the store, subway or walking on the streets especially NY. Where in Jamaica is there shooting up of schools? Children goes to school in the USA there is no guarantee they are coming back home. Everyone talks about crime in Jamaica. Those are direct targeted persons either because they are involved in shady business or their family is.
