Is It Time To Quit Buying Arcade1Up & Collect Real Arcades? Arcade1Up has been responsible for a lot of people either filling their game room or building a home arcade with their toy arcade recreations. But with Arcade1Up slowing down their releases and for people looking to keep adding more games to their lineup is now the time to switch to real arcades?
Disclaimer: Hey Guys, Just so you know I have a NDA with Arcade1Up for the Beta Tester Program that prevents me from discussing information from that program. I also am involved with AtGames for their KZbin Media Program and am not allowed to discuss information from that program until the AtGames set embargo dates. Please consider this information while watching my content. Love you guys!

Welcome to my channel. I have been playing and collecting games since 1987 and I use this channel to share my passion and memories of gaming. I review games that I believe are under appreciated or wrongfully dismissed on Game Genie Reviews. Video Game Nostalgia is a fun series where I take a look at a topic from my gaming past and share games that come to mind from it. I also do Top 10 lists, of course I do...what else is on youtube right? Well I like to think I put my own spin on them because they are based on my life in gaming. Hope you enjoy the channel and always looking forward to hearing from you.

Problem again with real Arcades which other Arcade Guys do not still understand. Most people do not know how to deal with fixing the PCB's or install wheels on the bottom of them. They can be big and really heavy to deal with. I love the Real Arcades. But sometimes it can be a real pain. Already having to deal with trying to figure out why my character button is stuck in the down position on the PCB. My Jamma Connector works fine with every other Game. So yeah.. 😥 (Also finding these depends on the location you live can be very very hard) "things to think about" Also the Price of the Machine and the shipping can easily go over 5-10K but again depends really now with this Vintage Market.

It’s not a cost issue it’s an old tech and a skill required to keep it running

I can't do real arcades due to their size, cost, weight, and I wouldn't be able to get even one up to my room. The 1ups I have the ones you have to build yourself I took the parts up to my room and built them in my room. I have a couple left to build like MKII Deluxe and SFII Deluxe. I just built KI Pro a few weeks ago and used a Szabo's marquee and added Nintendo stickers on the deck side pieces and cut out a Killer Instinct from an Arcade1up CPO from ebay and stuck it to the deck on the bottom, and cut out the Nintendo and Midway logos and stuck them to the top. I bought KI Pro Dec 2022.

Size and Maintenance would be the main deal killers for me, cost not really. I can't get arcade game through my downstairs basement and stairwell. I'd need to rip out the doors and stairs. I'd also be worried about maintenance on the CRT/PCB/etc... it's not something I want to start learning either.

Will stick with the $300-$400 toys i can easily move around without a dolly and if they crap out are a pretty easy mod to a multicade. Have zero interest in learning how to maintain the real commercial grade arcades that will inevitably need service.

I’ve been into restorations for the past year and a half. I’ve done 4 now and almost finished with an x-men. It’s a love hate hobby. You have to love doing this shit and you will hate it at times. But I’ll tell ya. I’ve learned so much. From the electronics/monitor work to wood restoration (bondo and the like) it’s crazy where I was to where I am now. I’m not perfect and still ask a shit ton of questions to people but it keeps me happy in between the hustle and bustle of life

Arcade1up is absolutely still for me and the best option I got, I’ll never have the space for real arcades or honestly even XLs and I’m a short guy so these are a decent size for me and I’ll be sad the day Arcade1up goes under

I’ll stick with arcade 1up. I don’t have the room or the money to have a bunch of real arcades with one game.

Youre way better off going with Elvira, i don't know how much you've played stranger things but the layout and code gets old. Elvira is a Bolts To the Ground PIN. It truly incredible and if you want a modern stern with a 90s bally feel EHOH is it. It's number 7 on pinside for a reason.

Old tech equals constant repairs, not to mention the space and weight of things. Arcade1ups are great; coming from someone who has owned 80 plus real cabs.

Buying real arcades was always an option . Not for me. I want to play, not maintain

Real arcades are not feasible for the average person. Arcade1up machines allow a bit of that nostalgia.
Can we fix this DEAD Sega arcade game I got for $100? 💀
