It’s not too late to learn Cloud skills, in fact they’re considered absolute must-haves now, same as knowing Python and/or typescript. Ten years ago if you had Cloud skills you had a leg up on others, now you’re *expected* to have Cloud skills, even if you aren’t a cloud engineer.

For folks getting into cloud skills, you probably want to work at a company doing hybrid or planning a migration (so for all the new grads out there or career changers) You might get stuck doing boring helpdesk or other entry-type work, but you will also get a chance to assist in implementing/maintaining cloud systems. The knowledge you get from certs is great, but the real world tends to be messy, and figuring out how to apply best practices and clean up a sloppy configuration is important. Lastly, while you are studying, try to think of how implementing x thing in a live environment would work (last week I had to cut-over 10 TB of SAN storage to cloud storage for an app that has something like 50k users, a nerve-wracking couple hours there, but thorough testing paid off). Lastly, I wouldn't worry about cloud computing going away, if you are a SMB owner and you need a new server for something it is way easier to add a few hundred $ a month than dropping $30k on new hardware and those SMBs will need someone who knows how to work those systems.

Hello @techwithLucy, As always, your content is outstanding! I'd like to offer an additional perspective: It's important for those entering the field to focus on mastering fundamental networking skills before rushing to accumulate certifications. Understanding core concepts such as the role of a router, how to build a Local Area Network (LAN), what a Virtual Machine (VM) is, and the distinctions between private and public subnets is crucial. For those with more experience, a practical challenge could be integrating an EC2 instance into your CI/CD pipeline-for instance, using GitLab CI. This kind of hands-on application reinforces both foundational and advanced skills.

Skill issue, all jokes aside take it one step at a time. You can’t expect to conquer a mountain in one go. Even a day to try to figure out a topic or domain. Or a week. By the end of the year you’ll be surprised to see how much you’ve learned. 1-2 hours a day is enough with that you’ll have 365-700+ hours in a year to study and accomplish your goal. It’s a marathon, not a sprint!

Learning the cloud is now mostly a skill more than a career. Means it will always be required no matter what but mostly on the DevOps side. Cloud Engineer roles most of the time are software/operations knowledge related more than cloud management and architecture. Such as learning linux, bash, having networking skills, kubernetes, docker, databases, infrastructure as code, and then the cloud skill comes as an umbrella to run and manage all these skills using its services and environment. The trend of promoting cloud as a career itself is most of the time not true. And only works on FAANG

You can teach them through social media or their are unique standards and pricing standards by government where people can learn about them independently in vet colleges or university and once they come to real market they will see or incounter same product or product under similar standards in different headings titles and feature based on purpose, use standards, business, need , market, target. For example for cooperative to kitchen to bank to nursing to nursery to school colleges and so many of such types… Can you open such shops and hire talent, sell the product and fell the market need. Can you talked to government, responsible body or university??
