To work as a PTA- you don’t need license. For PT jobs- you will have to clear PCE.

I have 2 questions: Should I start preparing for PCE before i do my credential assessment or after it gets completed? Is it mandatory to give exam right away after I complete my credentials?

No it is not mandatory to give the exam right after the evaluation but you have to give exam within 2 years after your evaluation is done

Once you clear the license exam you BPT percentage doesn’t really matter. Your skills are more important than your scores. You just need to make sure that you get the credential evaluation done from CAPR
