@stafaislive ok. Well I have sugar apple tree and a cherimoya tree in puerto rico. I guess it's a sugar/sweet apple, lol. But they look very different. Puerto Rico will call that anon. I bought mine from the local nursery as anon (that what you picked from the tree) while the actual cherimoya the nursery sold as "sugar apple" so either way in puerto rico you did not pick what is considered the local name for sugar apple you picked an anon that us Jamaicans call sugar apple. Lol. We use different words here.

@stafaislive nooooooo they do not taste the same. I think they are in the anon/custard family. I would take a cherimoya over mango, sugar apple or soursop. Cherimoya has qualities of a good soursop with hints of other fruits. It's top of the list bit hard to find in many places. PUERTO Rico imports it and I only find it at 1 supermarket for 5.99/ilb. It is force ripened and lost all its smell and flavor. So I do t buy it. I cannot even grow plants from the seeds without them failing. Whatever they are doing. I am growing my own now to avoid that. Will likely have fruits within 2 years
