The black thing in the air cleaner cover is the summer/winter air diverter. It goes in the top for summer. In winter(bottom) it directs hot air from the cylinder into the air cleaner to prevent the carb from icing up. If you're planning on milling, you want clean cold air. I also pull the dogs off on my milling saws so I get more bar for milling. Sounds like it runs good. 👍

To note I’ve also experienced the “no pop” on full choke. It floods easy. On full choke I’ll do no more than 2 strokes and go right to half choke “1st position”. The instruction manual shows the L and H start positions of 1 1/4 turns to start. That how I’ve started all of 2 cycles over the years with a new carb or new engine.

You should do your own upgrades. You like taking things apart and putting them back together. That's all there is to upgrades. Except using a torque wrench when necessary. Now they sell the upgraded model that comes with the NGK spark plug and other important upgrades. I will be buying one of those in the near future. All jokes aside, it’s a pro model saw. All the features are that of a professional model where it counts. For $350 delivered, it’s pretty hard to beat for 92cc class saw. But you’d want to change out some things to oem if you used it a lot.

@@IndianaDoug I just got one of the ms660 farmtec build kits. Put a 36" skip tooth on it. First time in wood was a couple hours ago and I am impressed. How long it'll last? I'm not sure but fit and everything was good. Didn't have any of the issues that the 4yr old youtube videos said. Only part that wasn't in the kit I put on was a high flow oil pump. It fired up on the 6th pull if I remember right. I also downloaded and printed out all the oem manuals.
@IndianaDoug
@IndianaDoug 2 жыл бұрын
@@mm88swrt kick butt👍🏻 I was surprised by the power to be honest. The only issue I’ve heard of lately is on a brand new machine, fuel leaks a bit from the line connection at the carb, until the line swells a bit when running. I’m not so sure that’s the issue or not but mine did this the first time I fired it up, you may catch it in my video. One person said it looked like oil, but it was fuel. After I ran it for a bit I never had the issue afterwards. I have a couple guys testing these saws and reporting any issues back to me, so far I’m beyond surprised at how well they are working. Let me know how things go with yours👍🏻

I have 3 of these now and they are vastly different especially with the BV models. Seems like they changed alot. Funny thing about the claims of using a decomp plug is those that never ran it think it’s a good option. Lol. This saw has alot of compression and a oem Husky decomp is necessary for starting. You can do the plug but you won’t get a full pull without alot of your arm.

I got the Holzfforma 660 a few months ago, and I tell you what, it's a badass saw. It's all Stihl parts and if you want or need any extra parts, it's pennies on the dollar compared to to buying original stihl products. I had added a couple tweaks of my own to it. But you can actually afford it with this company. Great product at a great price. And I'm definitely buying more from Holzfforma. You do the math, $338.00 for a ms660 with everything, including a 36 inch bar and chain plus 2 extra chains.or a Stihl ms660 for $1,999.99 plus tax and that's stock ms660. Not including the bar and chain.
