The mountains you liked are Bucegi Mountains and you can ski there too, in Sinaia for example but not only. And you can also do plenty of hikes as they are quite large in terms of area. The show situation is not due to the lack altitude, it's the weather in recent years. Normally there should be snow from early Nov (sometimes even early Oct) until April (just part of April and the upper half only) but the weather hasn't been normal in quite a few years now. Normally in February, sometimes temps can drop to bellow 20C so plus 20 is super not normal. Oh and good job Tash, doing quite super well after just a few days of skiing.

@@tashandbrad By train is like 1h from Brasov so you can check out other spots even if your base in in Brasov - there is Predeal, there is Sinaia but maybe Sinaia is a bit less beginner friendly and especially in Predeal,, do check if thee is snow. Also, those 2 spots are closer to Bucharest so on weekends they might be super mega crowded,

When is a great month to ski there? Does it snow every year?

We always go at the start of Feb, however the weather is changing, the best snow is starting to fall earlier, it snows every year :)
