I love the bag but NO WAY would do this is a veg tanned leather. As much as I love veg tanned leathers, I don't prefer them on my bags. I went with the chalk instead and love it, I wanted classic black but my boutique where I live is limited and the bags they had in stock been handled a ton and were already all marked up🥲. I feel they are doing a better job at inventory control. Very few retail bags make it to the outlet. This one did not even go on sale on retail. It is gone.

I really wanted you to be wrong about coach opting for microfiber when it went to retail. Whole reason I was obsessed with this bag when I first saw it was I felt like it was a modern take on the rambler (which has a suede interior bc vintage) and I’m a 1941 kind of girl like I love the remake esque of the vintage coach silhouettes and when I saw the buy now reviews like yours and some other KZbinrs and saw that suede, when I tell you… I was SOLD like I was anticipating and then to find out they did this shit I got really upset because to me when there’s piping AND microfiber it’s a miss for me. It’s just ugly idk. I have like the beat saddle bag that’s microfiber and I honestly don’t mind it bc when it’s stitched to the leather and the lining is edge coated it doesn’t have that air bubbly esque look and feel. I hateee it. it’s why I can’t get behind even the Cassie’s that are fabric lined and opt for the leather lined. like if you’re gonna do it, edge coat and stitch and make it at least look faux suede but this just looks lazy to me. I got SO disappointed that you were right lol. was so hyped for modern esque rambler but 🤷‍♀️. i just don’t understand if suede is more expensive or what? Like isn’t it just the raw side of the leather I don’t get why they do this lol. but it was enough for me to put my wallet away sadly - originally was very hyped but idk how you get bags straight from the runway and so I was just patiently waiting thinking we’d get it, but I guess I overestimated coach. was rooting for you mr vevers!!

I wanted to be wrong too! Yup suede is just the back of leather so if they just didn't line it they didn't have to pay for a additional material and would've had a amazing suede lining!

@@ralphbydesign exactly this got me to googling it and read that it’s little more work for the processing so can potentially be more expensive bc they have to split the leather but that ultimately the leather of suede is cheaper as they typically use leather from the animals sides for it since it tends to have more imperfections so they just split it and use the raw side / suede. like at that point cardi b what was the reason!! lol

I'm disappointed, too. I think they were trying to please too many demographics with this bag but i wish they would've gone all-in and made it top quality with the finishes too. I feel $600 is not worth it for this bag because the finishes aren't matching the quality of the beautiful leather. Had it been $800 with top notch finishing that would have also had great longevity, I would've purchased. As it stands, in terms of Coach's choice of quality of finishes vs leather quality, it's like ordering a nice steak at a fancy restaurant and being given a Capri Sun with it to drink. 😂

Great video, as always - both thorough and honest! Like seriously, even my Dreamer has a leather interior! I just think they are cheaping out in several areas. The strap could've been detachable as well - with an extra guitar style strap included like on other bags. For $600 - it should have some extras that make it more special. The way it is now, it just reminds me of my Rambler - with smooth leather and a nice flap. For $400 to $600, I can get an excellent condition pre-loved Proenza Schouler PS1 Medium with lambskin leather from a higher-end designer. Even Proenza Schouler will have their seasonal sales and put the Tiny and Medium PS1 bags on sale for like $500 -$600 brand new. So yeah, I have to agree with you there. Also - having a strap that doesn't even accommodate a fuller figure nor taller person is a real issue with me. It's not multi-functional, doesn't allow for a different strap, has a "meh" interior, and isn't that different than a Rambler. I'm passing on this one too. Coach is annoying me lately. Even their signature Denim Soft Tabby went up in price from $400 to $500 ...FOR DENIM. That's ridiculous for Coach. They're cheaping out and raising prices. It's so Louis Vuitton and Chanel of them. So much I agree with! For the price they have previously done some amazing leather and suede lined bags. Coach is really pushing inclusivity and that also has to be taller and plus size customers. They have a plus size model for their fashion shows and makes me wonder would it even fit her comfortably crossbody? I know this is only a little hiccup and Coach will listen and bounce back. Unfortunately for me, the strap length, the delicate leather, and the microfiber lining are dealbreakers. I just can’t justify $600 for a bag I won’t use. $600 is a lot! I received this bag from Coach and I love it! I have a lot of Dooney &Bourke Altos so I understand how some can be put off by the sensitivity of the leather. Personally I love it. The individual veining and quality of leather is excellent. I am 5 feet 0” and I I adjusted the strap to its shortest as I don’t like my bag to low. My only con to the bag is I feel it sits a little awkwardly in the hip (juts out a little). I think this could be lessened a bit by letting out the strap out one notch but then it would fall to low for my comfort. Also, I wish they did keep the suede. All in all, I love it! Thank you so much for the review. I thought it was spot on.❤️

I am so glad you did this review & how transparent & informative it is! I saw this bag in person & I worry my OCD could not handle the way everything shows on this bag. The ones I have seen in person had a TON of veining, which I didn't care for. However, I really love the overall design & the new Tabby clasp. I’m so glad you did this video. I was on the fence about getting this bag. It’s beautiful!! I’m really not sure about a bag that I have to baby. I’m kinda rough with my bags. Not sure if this will stand the test of time with me. I’m also not crazy about the microfiber and I’m a tall girl so it probably wouldn’t work crossbody for me.

I have 2 tea rose saddle bags with belt straps that I do love, however, I don't need any more bags like that where you can't change out the straps to make more versatile. I sold all my florentine dooneys, leather too picky too. I want to use my bags! Agree 100% on resale of tabby 26 , don't hold their value at all. Great video!

I want to like this bag, because it's giving vintage Coach vibes, but I think I honestly don't like the vintage Coach look most of the time! A pass for me.

I'm barely 5'2" and don't like to wear bags crossbody, esp thicker bags, so I would want to wear it as a shoulder bag and think it would hang to low as soooo many do! It is a beautiful bag tho. I think I need to watch your video on the Tabby box, I think I'm more interested in that!

That’s what I’ve heard also that they are selling well and even though there’s not many in the warehouse what some SA aren’t telling people is that there is 150 in stores not counting the JAX inventory. I also have my suspicions that people will be returning and rebuying to try and get their ideal leather variations. A lot of times returns end up at outlet and that’s what I’m hoping will happen. I like the variations personally they tell a amazing story. Thank you for watching ♥️

Agree about the lining. The actual dealbreaker would be ghe strap not being cross body who wants to struggle with a shoulder strap on the day to day.

I hope Coach continues in this direction - this is the kind of quality leather that I love. I just hope that if they want to charge this price point, they are more intentional on the finishes so the longevity of finishes can more closely match the longevity of this leather. I would've jumped had the interior been sn even better quality microfiber. Also, this kind of leather will literally last a lifetime but that black glazing will be short lived - why not either used a rolled leather trim finish or even a like-colored glazing.....a matching glazing would more effectively hide future cracking and imperfections. Anyone worried about it being "sensitive" leather - it will scuff easier than a pebbled leather - but - these are full grain dyed all the way through, meaning if you get a scratch or scuff you can use your fingers and buff it out. If you get a scrape or scuff in engineered pebbled leather,that's permanent. I almost ordered but the glazing and lining stopped me. Had they been more intentional on these, I could've justified the price tag for myself. I can get a Dooney & Bourke natural florentine satchel which has probably 3 x's the amount of this beautiful leather for about 30% of the price but the Dooney would wear better because of the choice of finishes. Same reason why vintage coach is STILL alive and well - the craftsmanship matched the beautiful materials chosen. Due to the subpar finishes this bag feels like it still has one foot in fast-fashion for me. In the future, if they offer this beautiful leather and style in a fully committed top-quality construction that matches the integrity of the leather, I'll be all in. I love this style but think I'll take my $600 and find a beautiful vintage Taft bag instead - even at it's it'd still last way longer than this bag will.
