Your title should be change to 'Is it worth joining IBM India' As you stated that IBM is an international enterprise with now more employees in India than in North America. IBM reached the apex being one of the best overall company to work for/with half a century ago. It mainly due to the leaders of the company have visions to lead the company to be the best solution company for the industries and recognize by their customers. You have missed out one of the important part, the IBM Research centers worldwide. That is where innovations and inventions arises within the industry. You mentioned about the high rate of layoff, attrition of staff turnover instead of what IBM does to retain high performance staffs. Ginny has mislead the company by missing the Cloud business and allowing others like Amazons, Dell and Microsoft to surpass IBM. IBM's logo color is now more red than blue after the acquisition of Redhat. The new president is the chief to run the IBM cloud business under Ginny, and he has failed miserably. Currently IBM's is marketing their 'Watson' philosophy by talk rather than by actions. It is easy to talk about an idea but the difficulties are the implementation of that idea! I am sad that IBM has declined so much from when I joined IBM North American in 1976. The leaders that they pick is the culprit of the failure of the enterprise. I am still consider being a proud IBMer, but you didn't even mentioned the term IBMer in your pitch, that tells me that you still have a lot to learn and understand why IBM is a company is worth working for.

I am the perfect person to say this . A big no for freshers specially if you are from tier two and three collages. Ibm is a big ocean a newly born small fish is someone about whom no one much cares . You will be a fish in the ocean . From the above video you must have understood ibm is not a paymaster. You will receive some chillars only rare salary increment. Ibm never terminates juniors freshers they themselves leave 🤣🤣 after some time because of low learning path ( you will have to do lot of trainings approx every week or alternate but thats not any technology traning it's useless . It's like you are asked not to eat with dirty hands as it is not safe for you 🙄) . If mass termination happe during crisis ibm decision is worse it terminates middle age men age (30-45) the most efficient one leaving only freshers and senior citizens (45+) in the company which again decreases it's performance because senior citizens think it as there home and freshers are not aquainted with anything. No free food 100% manager orientated he is god (keep praying) Hr does not exist in reality you will never meet them. PROS FREE GYM FREE HOME PICKUP AND DROP IS AVAILABLE depends upon projects .In many projects it is available. Unlimited Work from home facilities available Unlimited paid sick leave available . There are doctors with company who may verify if taken for long. No strict 9 hours policy your in and out are not recorded accept for security purposes not for your work and performance. Environment is good . Good people around you . All the above great unparalleled facilities are finally approved by manager only means if he wants he can reject your work from home sick leave leave etc. Has a great name in every corner of the world if you care about it. Freshers after joining for 6-9 months will do nothing and just basic for 1 year next , in ocean lot of big fishes to do the top technical work.. Also ibm has many branches (9 approx) . Ibm GBS GTS isl isdl Watson cloud etc . And it really matter in which department you are it matters a lot and you will not find this anywhere in any placement video. GTS is mainly technical support ( not bpo ) , GBS is client development and support development. , ISL is pure development and research it's not client related still you have high pakage but getting there is tough you need high technical skills pure developer and techie , in GBS basic coding concepts should be clear and in GTS you should have overall knowledge about all technologies you don't need to be a developer. Ibm mostly hires for GTS and GBS . Go for a start up if you want to grow fast and learn

No, they are an appalling company - they treat their people like shit!! In the UK most GOOD companies are quite generous when they have to make people redundant but not IBM!!! They only give the MNIMUM UK statutory redundancy payment. So, if you have been with IBM for 10 years you only get 10 weeks pay!!!

Unrelated but meaningful (Do share if IBM too falls in this category): Wipro (Software Giant) is the worst and most inhumanitarian company. This is my personal experience as a victim of harassment in Wipro: Wipro is the worst company that harasses its own employees. Wipro provides corporate security services to other companies. This is a major business in Wipro. In this business, Wipro harasses its employees (mostly software engineers) whose previous company has raised a complaint against them. So these people are essentially tricked into joining Wipro by means of higher package or some other benefits in order to bait them into joining Wipro. Once they are inside Wipro, Wipro's management harasses them and instructs their juniors too to harass them by passing threatening and insulting comments on them on everyday basis, at times for several hours, even stalking inside the campus, continuing to pass insults and threats wherever the victim goes. In extreme cases, Wipro's corporate security team starts stalking their victim outside the company campus, in public places too, while passing intimidating comments and threats. This all is done to intimidate the victim and make them docile. At the same time the company which has made the complaint (the previous company) starts extending an olive branch towards the victim after a few months, by showing friendly gestures, colleagues of previous company might give a phone call to victim, telling them that the company has vacany and they may join back. On the other hand, Wipro keeps harassing the victim until the victim quits. If the victim makes a written complaint against harassment with Wipro or previous company, Wipro might harass the victim further. Ideally, Wipro wants the victim to join the previous company back after being punished for a few months (six to seven months). And this service is not free. Wipro provides annual subscriptions of this service to other companies. **So essentially, Wipro makes profit out of harassing people.** So in Wipro either you are harassed or you harass other people. There is no other way. Wipro's corporate security team will keep giving you mock drills, training you to harass other people. Imagine a low paying company which also expects you to make enemies by harassing other people. If years later, these people try to take revenge on you, will Wipro provide the protection.
