Thanks so much guys, car feels different, and by different I mean BETTER , more power and torque + the extra features are very well thought. Amazing job! 😍 I will be back at some point in the near future 😅

You may have already got a few things installed already but, to give you an idea of a few basic mods, here is a small list to get you started: -K&N high performance airfilter -cold air intake (The Tegiwa carbon airbox (£450) is a popular choice, as is the HKS kit (£530). -exhaust (performance 4-2-1 exhaust manifold from the likes of Tegiwa, Japspeed, or Toda Racin) (this will be good to get you started and a good baseline) To add more: -headers -skunk2/drag cartel camshafts Extreme end of upgrades: -Building a supercharger: TTS Performance Rotrex Supercharger Kit Honda Civic Type-R FN2 -or building a 'frankenstein engine', with the k24 bottom end and keeping the k20 head

I know it's not exactly the kind of question you get asked, but now you no longer need to rest the hell out of it to get torque What is the mpg like?

I’m old enough to remember the days when you ordered a new 28 pin EPROM over the phone….waited for it to turn up in the post….and if you were lucky you would desolder your old EPROM, solder in an EPROM holder, and then in plug in your new remap. If you weren’t so lucky (civic EF 1.6i-16 comes to mind) you would have to solder a wire to each leg of the new EPROM and follow the instructions carefully and wire each leg to the specified point on the ecu, and just have the chip kinda floating about in the ECU. The general consensus was they weren’t really worthwhile on non turbo cars. I “chipped” 5 non turbo cars back in the day…. Swift 1.3 GTi (1990) Clio 16v (1992) Clio Williams (1993) Civic EG6 VTi (1992) Civic 1.6i-16 (1991) Every single one of them drove so much smoother, sounded a little better, and was noticeably faster with the chip. I’d often beat identical cars….or even ones with a few more performance parts….or I might have 4 people in mine and beat the same car who was driver only……but even if I was only imagining being faster, I’d have still chipped every single one, because factory maps are always compromised…..not only the safety margins for extreme temps or bad fuel, but also emissions and mpg targets…..and this is on cars made before CO2 based taxing of cars was even considered….I mean my Swift was so old it didn’t even come with a Cat. Yet once chipped was like a different car to drive…..so if a generic one map fits all chip can make such a difference to how a 1990 before cats or CO2 output were a thing 1.3……then in todays world where every g of CO2 matters…..an actual bespoke map for your particular car……will make it drive how it could and should have from the factory if the governments around the world weren’t so corrupt and greedy. Yeah you might not get massive power gains, but a car mapped by anyone who can understand A/F ratios and knows how to add a bit of timing without knocking will always be a pleasure to drive compared to a car mapped to hit a certain CO2 figure. Perfect example of this is the 1.2 fiat 500…..it’s £30 tax a year…..but to get the correct CO2 numbers to qualify for £30 tax….fiat have had to map them in such a way….they are literally dangerous to drive. Every time you set off from a junction, you know if you do it at normal calm speed, there’s a 3% chance of stalling….a 15% chance of kangerooing a bit….and a 82% chance you’ll get away ok. If you’re pulling into traffic moving at any pace, you need to literally give enough revs to make sure you will definitely wheel spin out of the junction…..and screech off like a 15 yr old that’s stole his Nanna’s car. Fiat panda with exact same engine has none of these problems…..it’s 4x4 so wasn’t possible to make the £30 tax bracket…..so instead fiat could afford to be a bit more generous with the map. The problem on the 500 is so bad superchips actually do a drivability map. All I’m really trying to say, is if you’re considering a map on an NA car…..but are worried about going for it because you worry you won’t notice it, I’d take the risk and try it……the bhp numbers don’t tell the full story.

Love these things. The internet KZbin reviewers always slag them off but as a fast hot hatch it’s pretty good. Great fun when they mod them lightly and bring the VTEC down the rev range to about 4k.

It doesn't though, Your 2ZZ has about 190 BHP but less at the wheels, This FN2 has 205 BHP but 170 at the wheels, I can assure you the K20 in this model has more power than your 2ZZ, plus lift engages earlier on this motor, yours engages very close to redline which is a big letdown for the 2ZZ.
