Is it worth this amount of time to have your own Backyard Golf Course?

I built a par 3 in my backyard. I have 3 tee boxes and i bought a reel mower and planted turf grass so i could cut a real fairway. my back tee is only 77 yards. currently an artificle green, but also currently growing a real one. I have night lights, ball washers, and boundary markers. so much fun. best decision i ever made, but its a tonnnnn of work just for the par 3. but i love every minute of it.

You're almost at 22k. Congrats man. Whether you play / used to play golf or have a golf hole, you're right, there is nothing like the fresh cut golf course grass smell in the morning. I pray we get to have that in Heaven. Especially when you catch it just right and you have several holes by yourself.

I was at the Liv event this week in Nashville on a practice day. Those guys are all chill/cool. I love seeing the pros give kids stuff or autographs. (not so much the professional autograph seekers) and what has scotty not won the last 7 times? (Pinehurst that's it) Unreal golf by him.

Maybe overtime you’ll decide it’s worth having a wasteland for the first 100 odd so yards instead of the long fairway to reduce a bit of work…. Then again the beauty of a long fairway is hard to give up

As well my COVID project was a bent grass green, about 2/3rds your size. Elevated green with rock took nearly 500 yards of fill, 60 yards of sand and about 30 yards of expensive 80/20 mix. My point - incredible condition by year two, now nearing the five year mark it’s a complete struggle to maintain. I have the time and all equipment - I’d NEVER recommend this to any friend of mine.
