I call it Me Space --- hubby retired 10 years ago & I am still doing all the wifey duties of taking care of house & the garden & all the house cleaning, cooking, cleaning up after cooking (he helps somewhat with that) Hubby finally learned to grocery shop about 7 years ago & only a very short, specific limited list of groceries. So I guess that is something. He has never been a handy man around the house. He has NOT mowed the yard in 10 years - that is done by lawn people. I mean I am sick of planning meals & COOKING. All the darn cooking shows --- those "chefs" do not dice all the food, put them in cute little bowls to be dumped into the pot, they DO NOT clean up the kitchen after. That is why Rea Drummond is the one who constantly smiles thruout the entire cooking/baking process --- I mean really I could cook under the circumstance if I had kitchen help & did not have to wash put away a dinner's worth of pans, pots, load dishwasher & clean all the counter space & the stove top --- take out the garbage to the bine. I never stop all day. Where is my relaxation & fun? Covid made it worse --- no dinners out ---our favorite restaurant left.

If something happens to my husband God forbid, I will never live with another man again. I’ve lived most of my life with a man and of course my kids when they were growing up; but even as a child, I never had my own bed. I want to be able to just make a sandwich and call it a meal. I want to stay up as late as I want and then sleep in as long as I want without feeling guilty or lazy. I think Delores is living her best life right now and I can totally relate. What’s not to love? You get to enjoy your special time with your man and then when he leaves, you’ve got your home to yourself and do as you like.
