Kaapo Ville Olavi Kakko (born 13 February 2001) is a Finnish professional ice hockey forward for the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Kakko was selected second overall by the Rangers in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Kakko plays right wing, but also has experience playing at centre. He made his professional debut playing with TPS of the Finnish Liiga.
Kakko has been a major disappointment in New York with the Rangers so we looked at some of NY's options regarding Kaapo Kakko.

I think a 2nd + mid-level prospect is attainable in a potential trade. The Flames drafted Bennett in the top 5 and traded him to Florida for a similar package.

A change of scenery could do Kakko well…NY is a tough place to play if you are a shy type like he seems to be…all he lacks is confidence!

@@ClearingTheBenches As a Flames fan, I would love to see Kakko in our jersey. Bennett has really picked up his play since leaving Calgary and I think a change of scenery for Kakko would definitely help.

This is going to be a knock down battle of attrition for both teams! With all the nasty hits, shot blocking and high sticks it could come down to who is healthier after game 3…Rangers need to get PP going and Fla just needs to keep Tkachuk front abs center…nobody likes dealing with him! Wanna hear a crazy Tkachuk fact? Him and his brother both got picked the pick before Arizona picked..imagine if they were teammates? Shestirkin looking for a 8yr 12m contract and he deserves it. It's rough as I feel like this was NYR year but they didn't want it enough and they are going to have to get rid of some players.

The Rangers won't trade him. His development was stunted by injury and shitty coaches. Lafreniere proved that the previous coaches were awful with young players this year. Give him more time. They have nothing to lose.

Been thinking about this more, Goodrow is looking pretty good right now so… how would you feel about 2024 42nd overall and a mid prospect (ozzy wiesblatt maybe) for Kakko? Would love to see a 2nd or 3rd line of Celebrini, Will Smith, and Kakko

I think Buffalo would be a great fit especially with Ruff back behind the bench…I dont think you’d have to give up more than a 2-3 rounder to get him…Savoie may be a little undersized for what the Rangers are looking to do but ya never know…If I were the Rangers I may ask for the picks instead of players…Thanks for chiming in…who ya want Buff to draft at 11? Another good Dman if one drops or someone like Helenius or Sennecke to replace Skinner?
