Kaguya and Ishigami is probably my favorite boy/girl friendship in anime! Most such relationships are just there to lead to a romance... So it's nice to have one where it's just pure friendship, with them supporting each other, etc..!

The moon references are call backs to the Japanese fairy tale “The Tale of Princess Kaguya.” There’s a really good Studio Ghibli anime adaptation of the story out there, well worth watching.

14:30 that scene was a reference to Shawshank Redemption btw, one of the greatest movies of all time. Highly recommend anyone who hasn't seen it to watch it ASAP! This season of Kaguya-sama in general has been amazing when it comes to referencing other media, the staff put a lot of love into this one.
