Single rider line only helps though if you have a small line. Generally you only have one or two slots for single rider per train, so if you have a line of 25 people in single rider, that's very much not worth it. But if you hae four or five people in ths single rider line, it's totally worthwhile.

You have reciprocal prestige pass plus parking at any park. I have a KI prestige plus pass and I’ve been let in CP’S prestige parking with no issues! This is the first time I’ve gotten the pass. I guess it’s an upgrade from prestige? Did you get this resolved? KI also doesn’t scan your prestige pass and I had to show it on my app to prove I had it. I still had my previous platinum pass and I argued with the guy until I showed him the pass on my app.

I’ve never gone to kings island winter fest even though it’s my home park. It seems like a joke 30 degree temps with all 3 B&Ms closed and only 2 coasters open with insane lines

It's very nice. But between the extremely expensive parking and tickets. ( only open 6 hours) it's not worth it. The crowd is extremely large. Mostly only kiddie rides open. So the adult rides had extremely long lines. Mystic timbers was almost 2 hrs. I done it and don't regret doing it , but won't do it again.

Quick question @notyournormalg1 Do Fast Lane lines still exist for KI Winterfest? I have had all season all park $999.99 fast lane since 2019 excluding 2020. Which restaurants are available at KI on the meal plan in Winterfest?

No fast lanes and pretty much all the same restaurants as the regular season are still on the dining plan.

Restaurants include brew house, Tom and chew, Panda Express, the eatery inside festhaus, grain and grill, Enrique’s, and I think there are a few hot dog and hamburger places in the kids area that also work for it.

I think all fast lanes are single rider lines for winterfest. I am not positive, but that’s my understanding. I know that neither of the coasters has a fast lane line. Just went through them as single rider yesterday night.

@@notyournormalg1 So Chicken Shack isn't open? That's my go to at KI when it's outside of waterpark season, because their wings are on the meal plan, at least as of Oct. 2022. And Skyline? I know they replaced the main location with grain and grill at some point in 2023 (I didn't visit Ohio in 2023), but the coney mall stand location was on the meal plan in 2022 and it was the same thing you just couldn't eat inside.

@@notyournormalg1 Nice. I wish they had single rider lines during the regular season for the bigger coasters. Other than Wednesday August 10th, 2022, which was an early washout that cleared up (I drove through that squall just southwest of Columbus on I-71 southbound) but on 08/10/2022, KI never got busy and never got above 62 degrees after the storm passed, where I got to re-ride EVERYTHING in my seats of choice, the lines did get long and my fast lane got suspended in 2022 by CF for a few months because of a fiasco at CP with the woman I was dating last summer and being in line for Steel Vengeance on a sunny humid day that turned stormy unexpectedly... well, story is too long to tell so I'll stop right there. One of the scariest moments of my life was on 08/10/2022 on my very first ride ever on Orion my phone fell out through the B&M corner seat hole and thank heavens I was on the next to back row instead of the very back row. Some little 21 year old girl named Madison rescued my phone near the end of the ride when it was about to fall off. After that, I have a strict policy of phone can't ride with me on ANYTHING, which can be problematic on certain coasters like Millie due to the long line even for fast lane and that coaster not having little cubbies where you can put your phone. The only other option when solo is to not bring my phone at all which is BORING. CP in general just sucks without a partner or at least a friend.

Nah, it's Fiesta Texas, Busch Gardens Tampa, Seaworld, Velocicoaster, Over Texas, and Knotts/Magic Mountain season. Also Silver Dollar City is still open until Xmas but you really have to check the weather before you make a trip to the Ozarks because it can get cold and icy there but also you'll have random warmish and sunny days in December there too.

Looks like a cool event! Being more of a coaster fan and living in northern Ohio, I’m not sure if I’d drive close to 4 hrs to get there due to the potential cold weather and ride closures. For what it is, however, it would be nice to just walk around and see the scenery at the park if I were in the area. Thanks for the review and content! Do you think Cedar Point would ever do something like this? It’s probably not realistic or justifiable due to the weather and operating costs, but just wanted to throw the thought out.

We go every black Friday with a large group of friends. It's been a tradition since 2018. We will go back again at least once to see more and will try to get new years eve international buffet tickets again. That was amazing.

Absolutely. It's an excuse to get out, and go see our friends who we only get to see when we go down there, as it's about 4 hours to get there.

The new chef ruined the Mac n cheese bar. No brisket, no brew master cheese sauce (although he fixed the 5 alarm sauce, so it's actually hot now) and I swear there was more things to put on them last year. Making both the burritos and the Mac n cheese bowls is probably why they don't have the stuff they had last year. Kind of how combining derby dogs and the walking taco place ruined derby dogs at CP.

Theme park season isn't over if you go to California, Florida, and Texas! Winterfest isn't worth it for stupid long lines for 2 decent roller coasters. And 30 degree temps. If you can't afford to travel and/or have young kids, it might be a decent option. Enthusiasts definitely head south after Halloweekends.

It's less about the rides, and more about spending time with family and friends, doing fun things. Also.... we live in the north. 30° is almost t-shirt weather in Jan/Feb😂. Temperature doesn't bother me at all. Don't go on opening weekend, or NYE weekend. I mean, I was there, and will be on NYE, but those are the busiest weekends. I'm from NE Ohio, and we have made a bunch of good friends down there at KI, so any excuse to go see them, and have some fun is good.
