So excited for this video! The Polynesian Hotel is the very first hotel I stayed in at Disney world with my parents in the 1980s! Can’t wait to watch this! ❤️❤️

I'd for sure put their breakfast on a top 5 list. Can't go wrong with bread pudding. Everyone values different things about the restaurants, we love a mix of atmosphere and great food.

Hi Sam & Jay 👋 😊! Thank you for sharing your dining experience at Kona Cafe. I have been fortunate to vacation twice to the French Polynesian Islands. Between O'Hana & Kona, their menus do not relate to the Tahitian Island palate. The 2 restaurants appear more Hawaiian. French Polynesia has a strong French & island influence. Local fish, citrus sauces with herbs, the buried roasted pig. The use of large leaves to wrap & steam cook. Your selections look very delicious 😋. Glad you are safe. See you for the next one. 😊 ❤

I think Disney does well with what they have but they definitely aren't the most authentic dishes. Curious if Bread Pudding is big in the Polynesian islands haha We are so grateful to be okay, thanks for watching :) Always enjoy hearing from you.

We've spoken about this! With our day jobs it's been hard for us to get around to other areas but it's definitely on our radar. We'll do our best to get over there. Thanks for the suggestion 🙂

Great video, Tonga Toast is a must every trip but I've never been to Kona for lunch at dinner. We're spending half of our next trip at Poly, though, so we'll try to hit it for sure
@ThemeParkFoodiesАй бұрын
We need to do a breakfast video on here again. Missing Tonga Toast. Hope you guys can get here for lunch or dinner. We definitely recommend it! Hope you have the best trip 🙂.

We love the Polynesian. I would love to do a full week there. It has a very special memory for us when we did go. It’s where we told you guys Christina was pregnant. We watched the magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach and I love Ohana. Kona Café is extremely underrated. And the bread pudding is probably one of my favorite desserts in all of Disney World.
@ThemeParkFoodiesАй бұрын
I remember it like it was yesterday! Polynesian is special to us too- great memories eating on our patio watching the fireworks. All the food at the Poly is great.

I've eaten three times at this restaurant and been very happy each time. I do love the sushi, and I always get the pot stickers and wings. I also really like their desserts.

Love the Polynesian resort food! I have to try those potstickers. We recently went to Tambu Lounge to avoid Ohana prices, and it was so nice! Can't beat that Kona press pot coffee. Great vlog! ❤
@ThemeParkFoodiesАй бұрын
The potstickers are a must! We absolutely love going to Tambu, we go frequently off camera and always enjoy it- great staff there and love not paying the O'hana price tag! The Kona press pot lives rent free in my head. Thank you so much for watching.

Hi TPF's !! We enjoyed the video very much. We have been to Kona Cafe for breakfasts and dinner and to be honest it was a swing and a miss both times. OK, granted it was maybe like 2 - 3 years ago and we have not been back since. After watching your video perhaps it may be worth another try. Not this coming trip though, we have all our reservations done. Side note: Did you know that the Flying Fish took the scallops off the menu? What the heck? OK, gotta go pack....
@ThemeParkFoodiesАй бұрын
Oh no! We love Flying Fish and they just keep dropping some of their best items. If they remove the Blackened NY Strip we're done with them 😆. Very sorry to read your experience at Kona Cafe was less than great. We've had varying experiences here but on this night they were on point. Unfortunately we've realized a lot of these restaurants can be inconsistent. If you do end up here again, we hope your experience is just as great as the one we had here. Also, hope you have the best trip!

I tried kona last time I was there in July. I ordered the potstickers, and the bah minh sandwich. Imo the potstickers were not that good. I didn't care for the flavor. The sandwich was good but my ibs activated really bad after eating it. I want to go for breakfast, so tysm for reviewing this. Will be dining for breakfast in nov!!!

I have to get back to Kona, I’ve been eating there since before it was called Kona 😂 it was a traditional breakfast place for my family for decades. We went last minute very late when we first moved down so early August and it wasn’t good. But I think it was a fluke. We’ll be back
