I think the dancing/choreo differences are also due to the differences in their agency's styles - YG tends to focus less on choreo and just do more hip-hop moves with nice point choreos. YG artists also tend to dance with more emphasis to the artist's own style and swag.

Yea...unfortunately a lot of K-pop stans don't seem to get that. If they don't dance like dance practice from A-Z properly...they instantly throw hate that they're not dancing well enough. I'd be bored if I saw them dancing like backup dancers the entire time in a concert. That's often the difference I see with yg artists adding their own personality and swag or moves in their performance....though I wouldn't deny jennies slack at times but I can't say that's always the case...most it the time she was actually hurt so.

As a korean I can see that koreans in general are already familar with the YG style (which is obvious ig since everyone grew up with yg artists lol), so I don't see anyone in korea hating on Jennie, or just BP in general for not "going hard" 100% of the time during concerts/on tour. For those who use coachella/music festivals as an excuse clearly can't tell the difference between having to promote/prove themselves to crowds that aren't necessarily made up of blinks. Because most likely not all of the ppl there will be Blinks, so they probably need to appeal to new listeners. So of course they will go harder than normal concerts on tour, where on tour they NEED to pace themselves in order to actually finish without getting burnt out. The thing with Jennie I feel like people seem to forget that she really DID go hard 100% during their rookie days. But even then people would still hate on her for trying to "outshine" the others. Which is total bullshit. Now that she learned that her body can't maintain that kind of energy every time she performs and tends to injure herself, she doesn't go that hard. However to me it just looks like she's pacing herself for the verses and goes harder during the chorus, which is fair since that part is usually when the choreo "goes hard". Also not to mention koreans still prefer and respect BP for their live vocals instead of 4th IVE vocals where most can't really sing live very well lol. This is also the reason why Twice was roasted a few years back for not being able to sing (excluding nayeon and jihyo)

I don’t think kpop as a whole is overrated at all. At the end of the day, it’s just Korean pop music. Blackpink isn’t overrated either, they’ve had fans in a chokehold for years and gained so many more international fans ever since their global hit, Ddu-du-ddu- du back in 2018. People got more curious as years went on and it’s us the fans that have helped them get to where they are. They’re really cool and people from other fandoms always love bringing up weak points to try to bring the girls down but they’re still out here killing it. Idk why people talk shit about them so much when they’re just girls making good music.

"Good" music? Where? They have the worst lyrics and all their songs are basically the same recycled song with a different beat over it. Their music videos are kinda cool, but it's their company who makes them, and just tries to put the members in the prettiest shots with the coolest backgrounds but the video doesn't actually have a meaning at all. All they do is sit there and look pretty. To me, their music is unlistenable at this point.

Jennie is the one that got me into BlackPink as a whole. I remember hearing Solo while my schools KPOP club was practicing that was like 2018. & in 2020 after “How You Like That” was released I officially became a fan of them. Jisoo caught my attention as well & she is my bias . Her voice go can from high to back to a very deep tone. I do love them together & their work. They each have their own color & flare that they add to their music & that’s what I look for artists to do. Their discography is short but it’s very put together in so many ways. Also, Jisoo’s voice reminds me of Jeongyeon & Jihyo from TWICE. Both their voices can get really deep as well.

If you want to see the full choreo just look a a performance or practice version of whichever song you want. Girl groups tend to have more simple easier choreography bc of Korean societal standards requiring women to be “femenine” and gentle. i mean sure, but also it has a lot to do with male and female bodies being different too. Men have more muscle mass, making it comparatively easier for them to be dancing rigorously than women. Usually strong core = stable singing, and we can see that female idols are 99% suuuuper petite/skinny (though there are always exceptions). As a korean I dunno where you got the "societal standards" part because BP is not really considered girly but still loved by the general public. Even Lisa who's an amazing dancer with a strong core, can't sing nor rap stably when when full out dancing which is why she tends to let the backtrack do the job (there's nothing wrong with that either). For example in concerts she's dancing 80% rapping full lyrics 20%. I guess there are always exceptions because Jisoo's the stable singer, but then again she's not dancing as hard as Lisa. So you win some you lose some, it's always a balance ig

If you want to see more of them dancing check out any of their Dance Practice Performances (they're just lip syncing) but they show the full dance for the whole song instead of the *snippets you get to see in their MV's. They each have KZbin Channels with Vlogs/Content and LaLisa did a Mini Dance Film Series where she's dancing to multiple songs of other artists. Then ofc there's any Live Performances where they do in fact Dance and Sing/Rap Live (a backing track is always there for when they need a breath considering how much these ladies move while on stage is understandable) but their Live Performances *Especially Their Headlining Coachella 2023 (both weekends on the main stage) is Phenomenal!! They turned Coachella into PinkChella lol 😅 and their set list includes each members Solo's as well... Welcome to BLACKPINK.

I was blown away by their personalities and friendship, and then when I watched their music videos, I was a total BLINK. After I got to know them, every moment began to be spent with them. I don't think anyone mentioned, but Blackpink concept is about the mix of their Pink side (more girlie and popish) with their Black side (more savage and strong), so they have songs that represent the best one of those sides and you actually chose the songs that are more of the second side, so that's why you felt all their songs have similar structure, but their Pink side is quite different. And I actually love their structure with the mixed hip hop and that makes me know they will always bring a new banger for me!

awww i really love your reaction. i became a blink around 2017 and i became obsessed. i had the wonderful opportunity to see them at their concert in LA last year and i literally cried at the end. it was so so amazing and i had so much fun. they are some of the top performers of our generation. it was genuinely at the top of my favorite concerts i’ve ever been to. you’re gonna love these four women even more trust me. they’re one of the most humble, genuine, and sweetest celebrities out right now and they treat each other like real sisters and have such a tight bond. if you didn’t know, they also have their own solo works and they’re top fashion models! they also do a lot of song and dance covers (both as a group and solos). so if you want to see them dance, rap, or sing a bit harder, they do some of that in covers. but yeah i love your reaction, the pinks don’t disappoint! definitely following u next kpop group i suggest is SEVENTEEN, EXO, TWICE, or NCT
