Is there a better example of the "Ewing Theory" in world football? Who are we forgetting?

Philippe Coutinho! Everything run through him at Liverpool... Turns out they were much much better going direct!

"Great players make team mates play great" - by this measure, Mbappe' was the opposite of a great player. This in a sport that is best played as a team, as Messi does. Messi only looked bad at PSG because he was always feeding the ball to Mbappe' and hardly ever getting it back.

What was Messi's excuse in his latter days at Barcelona?

Everyone gets The Ewing Theory wrong in that the teams improves without the star, its that the team is completely written off but surprisingly ends up being good. It revolves around the 1999 playoffs when Ewing tore his ACL in the East finals. The Knicks were not supposed to beat Indiana but they had Marcus Camby as their backup center and he destroyed the Pacers. He couldn't match that performance against the Spurs. Overall NY was 8-3 with Ewing in the playoffs (including a 6 game win streak), but 4-5 without him. The previous season Ewing was hurt as well, NY was 15-10 with him, 28-29 without him.

Psg in the champions league says different. He is a bad fit at Madrid though, too much overlap with Vini
