Libya is one of the largest countries in the world in terms of area despite that the population is small about 7 million, all of whom are concentrated in the coastal areas. The country has large oil economic resources that make it one of the richest countries in the world In terms of tourism it has the largest Roman city in the world, which is Leptis Magna, and there is the largest Greek city in the world, which is Cyrene in the Green Mountain in Barqa. The country is living in a political struggle over who rules the government, and despite that, it looks very beautiful, like many European cities overlooking the Mediterranean Sea A beautiful video and one of the most wonderful people I have witnessed who filmed Tripoli ❤

How sad. I see no women on the streets enjoying the day. The catholic cathedral in Algerian square is now a mosque. 🙁 I must say it is cleaner than it was in the 60’s. I know things must change but the honor Roman structures but not cathedrals?

@@chatalaine Don’t worry as that’s not the case at all. There are women everywhere around the city. There weren’t many out and about on my first day as it was Eid and most people were at home with families and shops were closed. Bear in mind in Libyan culture it is very disrespectful to film women without consent as well so naturally when I was recording I avoided filming women. It is considered very disrespectful for a man to film a woman without permission. I saw many women on the streets in Tripoli. There are also quite a few women in this video if you look carefully. In regards to the corniche in the evenings, women do not tend to hang out there during Eid as they are at home with families. Most people there were men from sub Saharan Africa. I agree it’s sad about the cathedral.
