Think you had to cut other way around making the wood rest on white piece... if you right hand then unscrew the holder piece and turn around if you can understand what I just wrote lol

The chainsaw pulls the log toward you. You should have stood on the other side, the side with the brace. That would have helped the log coming toward you.

I went and checked out the video for this product and also for the Makita one. The only thing they did differently was to push down hard on the free end of the log each time

That thing looks like a disaster waiting to happen. You'd be better off just using a timberjack or that hitch attachment. Why would you cut firewood where you would have to carry it all out by hand anyway?

Keep it pointed more uphill and cut from the other side. Also put the log dogs back on your chainsaw will help hold the log more securely.

The chain moves in the same direction, no matter which side you stand on. Gonna be the same thing.

That's why you put your left leg against the log to hold it. So easy.

Xytras you are correct the chain always moves in the same direction, but it pulls the wood towards the saw when cutting in a downward motion. If he stands on the other side it will hit the brace. Giving more support

this is the first video I've ever seen him even slightly be a bit unhappy about something. looks like maybe he may have a few words he's having trouble holding back. he genuinely doesn't like it. no thumbs up ,or BOOM!! or even a "this is awesom" ... nothing!!! he looks disgusted in the very last frame of the video..lol

I build my one one based on this design. try to change your cut position for the other side and always check the floor inclination. I made another log stabilizer avoiding that wable movment of the log.

Try putting the smaller end in the holder, putting the heavier end as far from the holder as you can

If you had it on the completely flat surface it would definitely help. The log would still be wobbling in it, but at least it wouldn't want to fall over on you.

What if you stood on the other side with the white brace sticking up. That way when you cut it would push against the brace and the saw

The hitch one had a Y shape that held the log a lot better. But this is interesting. I never saw one of those.

If you weld 2 V shapes, one for the bottom bar and one for the top bar that contact the log, it would work better.

I have tool that have pretty much same purpose as this one. But my is better, because it has much better system for griping logs. Also I use that tool only at my home, where we cut thick logs of length 1 meter to 4 peaces. This is very useful tool, especially if ground is full with rocks. The best way to use it is when you have two guys, one for cutting logs with chainsaw, and one who puts logs on it.
