Perhentian and Langkawi is too mainstream here, try Redang Island, Lang Tengah Island, Kapas Island, Gemia Island, Rawa Island, Mabul Island, Sipadan Island, Dulang Bohey Island etc. There are tons of beautiful islands here but they are not well known for the tourists. I'd like to add a few more attractions every tourist should consider checking out while in Malaysia 1. Gunung Mulu national park - A UNESCO heritage site in Sarawak (Borneo) which is famous for its huge limestone caves, pristine rainforest, and abundant wildlife. 2. Melaka city - Also a UNESCO heritage site for the history and culture buffs is famous for its Portuguese forts, Dutch churches, British colonial buildings, temples, mosques.... and the food! 3. Cameron Highlands - Cool mountain air envelopes you while you have tea with scones in a Tudor-style setting overlooking a hillside tea plantation and strawberry farm. 4. Sipadan and Mabul Island - The ultimate destination for snorkeling and scuba-diving that is second to none. 5. Mount Kinabalu - The tallest peak in South-east Asia is a surprisingly easy climb for most people in good physical condition. Try to spot one of the world's largest (and stinkiest) flower, The Rafflesia, orangutans and leopard cats in the jungle trails on the way up to the peak.

My favourite dish depends on the mood actually,thats whats great about malaysia.If youve tried nasi campur from 1 restaurant,try it from every state,it will sure taste different,or nasi lemak where in semenanjung Malaysia,the Northern you get the sweeter the sambal will taste,and when you go to the South the spicier the sambal will be, sometimes the sambal is not made by locals from each states,but thats how it usually goes.Thats why everyone in malaysia love sambal. SAMBAL!~~

Heya Steve and Jess... Love..LOVE that Bako National Park made it into your favourite list..the village you departed in a boat from is actually my ancestral birthplace, and my parents still live around the neighbourhood :)..Can't wait to get back there and go for another hike. Now, about the dining experience, what you did there was not exactly how the Malays in most households eat though. Having dinner is usually exactly like how you would have your dinner, there's no 'ritual' attached to it actually hahaha... And wearing the 'sarong' is just what men could wear at nites to get comfy, pretty much like you sliiping on your shorts before sleeping. There's no specific ritual of handwashing coz hey...washing your hand is just washing your hand;). But it's great that you get to experience general Malay hospitality..hope you'll be back and get invited to more dinners by us locals yeah... Cheers!

Food - each state has their own iconic food, but Penang & Malacca have some of the best. But in general Malaysian foods all are the best..speaking as a malaysian of course. Beach & islands - Sabah. Especially in the east coast, in Semporna in Tawau division. Mountains - Mount Kinabalu in Sabah. Rainforest - Mulu and Bako National Park in Sarawak. And dont worry, a lot of people can speak english well.

What places should we visit next time?
@fattahqalbu77056 жыл бұрын
Flying The Nest now that's a tough question. 1) I'd suggest to go to KL Park which I consider it huge a quite beautiful. Just take a walk there. Go there especially in the morning makes you feel so refreshing and great place to take pictures. 2) there's a lot of island here in Malaysia, any of which you go I do believe you will have a great experience, maybe next you could go to pulau redang. But you've been to pulau perhentian and that is the most beautiful island you will see in Malaysia. 3) go hiking at bukit tabur or bukit Broga.

@@flyingthenest , If you will come to Malaysia in 2020, I think you should go to 1) Chinatown (in Kuala Lumpur) Because there is many places to visit there and there will be a lot of food in petaling street somewhere in Chinatown Bonus: You can ride the Hop on Hop off bus. You can find the places to buy the tickets. The bus should take you to certain places to visit in Kuala Lumpur 2) If you want to experience Indian cuisine or go into their temples, you can go to Brickfield. There is a little India there.(Little India is what we call two streets all of Indian stuff) Btw, I am a local in K.L. and do not judge me anyone, because I had just turned twelve ( technically eleven and two months for now) so I am excited just to see people from Us/Uk (Idk where are you from) that I never expected will come to Malaysia. Warning though, it might get very dirty/stinky in some places in Malaysia sometimes. And saying hello from the Malaysian Chinese.

Love this video!! You've given me a few things to do with the kids :) We are currently in KL and absolutely in love with this city. The Batu Caves were especially great for us because we were concerned our 2 & 4 yr olds would find the stairs too difficult to climb BUT our 4 year old just powered through it beating us to the top. We did end up carrying our 2 year old for most of the climb but they both did great.

The great thing about your experience is accepting invitation to experience the original local way of eating. It's touching, so humbling and a great honour to me as a Malaysian that you've really explored the multi-facets of Malaysia that even Malaysians rarely do. (a confession - even me) Of course, there are so many places (hidden heavens) which you should be exploring once you decide to return again.

Oh yes I remember a couple other vloggers visiting KL and the Batu Caves..absolutely incredible! I haven't seen your Malaysian series yet (hey I still consider myself new :)), but sure intend to! So yeah that country does look worth visiting..and this channel is DEFINITELY worth subbing to! I tell you, I don't think I've stopped buzzing about your LAST vlog! Did I mention I love the accents..and the closing music ( and the intro to this one--chill inducing!) ..ok maybe but bears repeating. lol

So glad you had a great experience in my country! If you're ever in the Borneo/Sabah, try to head to Sipadan Island among many other islands there, which are said to be among the best diving spots in the world! On a side note, they taught you a very traditional way of eating - while we still do eat with our hands, sarong isn't compulsory & most of the time we eat at dining tables as well :)
