Hey there Tom, just a brief line to say how much I enjoyed your video posting, both informative and relaxing in equal measure. My wife and I adore Marco Island (we're in the UK), and have visited three times so far. We'll be back again very soon for a couple of weeks. I, like you, am retired, although you look like you have a good few years on me (I'm 67). It's a fabulous place and ticks every conceivable box for us. We rent one of the amazing properties and live like Americans for two weeks, soaking up everything USA. We're also music fanatics, and I've even enjoyed the privilege of playing with some of the fabulous musicians you have lving there up at the Boardroom Tavern. Keep on posting these fabulous videos. Thank you for the nice comment, Mike. One of my retirement goals is to play at an open mic night someday. I'll need some more practice before that happens! They also have one here at Kava Culture on Thursday nights. The Boardroom's is a favorite for us as well. It's going to be another busy week with the new storm coming. I may do another livestream. I sincerely hope for all your sakes that everyone remains safe and secure, and continue to watch the updates in a heightened state of anxiety. P.S. All the roads are open right now, so I think you're good. There is some utility work going on with sewer pipes and water mains, but other than that, the roads are fine.

We are in marco island in october. Was there any damage to the first floor apartments? What is the quality of the drinking water?

I know there was some first floor damage on the north end of the island by The Snook Inn. Not aware of any else. Water quality? It's fine to drink. You'll get a million opinions on that but you can go to the city's website for more official information. Beware of the internet warriors.

When the storm surge and high tide concided, yes some streets and areas were flooded. The water was gone pretty quick after that.

To be concerned at this time with your holiday plans having to possibly be changed is a very selfish, pompous attitude.
