Having been born, raised and educated in the Philippines and then working, migrating and starting a family in "first-world country" have given me the opportunity to observe from afar and to compare. I eventually came to the conclusion that "THEY" (politicians and government leaders in the Philippines) ARE ALL THE SAME (okay there are a few, very few, very very few exceptions). SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE AND MOST FILIPINOS REALLY NEVER LEARN FROM THE LESSONS OF THE PAST. *"THEY" are primarily concerned with their personal agendas and what's good for themselves, their personal interests, their own families, their own circle of friends, and their own network.* IF EVER by some stroke of luck, you are linked or connected to the network of these politicians and government leaders, then good for you. Consider yourself lucky. But what's conspicuous from an observer like me is that "THEY" are not really concerned about what's good for the country and the welfare of the majority of the people who are living in the Philippines. Sad, painful and tragic truth about governance in the Philippines.

@@chrisk7118 That's a very difficult thing to do bec the problem is systemic, deeply rooted. As the great Filipino Jose Rizal described it, "it's similar to cancer". Sadly, MOST (I'm not saying all) of the older and even the current (those who are in their 20's) generation are afflicted by that "social cancer". So the solution that's in my mind will be difficult to do and will also take a very long time. WHAT IS IT? EDUCATION. The "next generation" (those in grade-6 and younger) should be REGULARLY EDUCATED (every year, from Grade 1-12 till they finish highschool) about the negative impact of corruption in politics and government, etc etc etc. If these can be instilled in their minds, then they will be against it and will fight against it in the future. ALSO, REGULARLY EDUCATE (every year, from Grade 1-12 till they finish highschool) the kids about GOOD moral values. *But as I said, it will be very hard bec the people who will teach them belong to our current generation who are, unfortunately, either exposed to or part of the "social cancer".*
