My only problems with Marinette: She never learns her lessons??? In Antibug, she gets advice from cat noir to stop letting her personal emotions cloud her super hero persona...and she does that anyway in volpina AND in cat blanc (a personal letter delivered by ladybug??). I don't mind her rejecting Chat's love that is a right every person has to reject a proposal. Just because someone loves you it is not necessary you have to love them. However, if she doesn't love Chat, does she actually love Adrien? Chat is a part of Adrien, her rejecting Chat implies that she doesn't fully accept Adrien, and so isn't in love with him.

I heard rumors saying that the writers aren't being given as much freedom to how the characters are written as they have to be approved by Thomas Astruc himself before hand. And if it doesnt fall in line with his vision, then it does not get in the show. This means that theres a strong possibility that the Stalker side of Marinette is Thomas not backing down on how her character should be portrayed. Even when the writers say that these are not very good decisions... Its possible that with how the upcoming Musical movie is not canon to the series that they are hoping they could make a multiverse so that they can portray Marinette in a lot less creepy ways. And maybe fix the writing issues the main series has in regards to Hawkmoth's plans and the intelligence levels of the civilians when trying to learn who their heros are (or at least explain what makes them unrecognizable to others when transformed, like how in Sailor Moon it was confirmed that it was easier for the marketing department when in the show they do look incredibly different to the civilians and villains but since the series follows the titular character we as the audience see her and her friends, how she is as a civilian just glitzed up. Easier on everyone's budgets. Literally if we were following an everyday civilian instead, the sailor scouts when transformed would look like the filler arch villains of the 90's dub between the events of the first and second archs)

I used to be a huge Love Square shipper back when I first watched the show in 2017. But as I grew older- and even back then at times- Marinette's behaviour rubbed me off the wrong way. Her constant stalking and gatekeeping of Adrien is less than ideal for a protagonist that young girls are supposed to look up to, and the fact that she rarely faces the consequences of her actions. Conversely, she's rewarded. Take for example Puppeteer 2 or Animaestro. She tried to kiss Adrien's "wax statue" and steal his hair in the former, while in Animaestro she concocted a plan with Chloe to get rid of Kagami for the sole reason that Adrien liked her. She doesn't have to undergo any sort of punishment in either (apart from the general guilt) and in Animaestro, she even gets to sit next to Adrien at the end. Her constant mistreatment of Chat Noir also throws me off. She's quick to criticise and reject him and while yes, she's a great friend and truly cares for Chat, I don't understand how she doesn't seem to realise that the pain she feels at Adrien's rejection/friendzoning of her is equal to how Chat feels. At least he manages to voice his feelings. One more thing I dislike is how perfect she seems. Apart from her clumsiness and quirky demeanor, which is at least something people can relate to, she seems to have mastered every Kwami's powers, is good at multiple things and has a well known family? Lady Noire is an example of this- while Adrien rightfully struggled, she managed to figure things out in mere moments, and spent the rest of that time taunting him. I liked Marinette a lot- she's a wonderful character despite her obsessive tendencies- but I blame the writing. There's a whole other side to this with Adrien too, and why I don't like the Love Square, but this is already wayyy too long (whoops)

Marinette/Ladybug only feels things for Cat Noir if he‘s soft/sensitive. You could tell in Glaciator. The only reason she doesnt like Cat Noir in a romantic way is becaus she is blinded by Adrien and his perfection. Another reason is because in her eyes he is „cocky“. He likes to show off and stuff and she isnt really into that

I don’t blame her for not giving a chance to Cat/Chat Noir. I do love him, but if she doesn’t like him, she just doesn’t like him. She’s not going to just go around falling for every person who’s nice to her and likes her back. I don’t do that, neither should anyone else have to do that. Also, I agree that I felt really bad for Cat Noir in the New York Special, but I would be just as angry if I didn’t understand why Adrien did it. I think she’s justified in these regards. As for Marinette, I do agree with most of your points (other than the Lila part. I agree with someone else in the comments about that). I want to see some more development in season 4 with her around Adrien.

The number of people she hurted because she let her feelings for Adrien get the better of her can't be counted on 2 hands. She also have no problems humiliating and bullying girls who gets too close to him, as seen when she teamed up with Chloé to humiliate Kagami just to steal her place at a movie premiere that she didn't want to go to as Ladybug in the first place. Chat Noir looks meeks next to Marinette. I stopped saying she's in love with him and I just now call it her obsession.

I was spending time in my room Then decided to cool of my mind So i then i searched up marinette videos explaining her disgustingly toxic character and boy oh am i glad i did! I really feel better now seeing her dumb flaws. But i guess its my turn to state my reasons so here we go: Marinette is the main character of the show and she is loved by the miraculous ladybug fandom very much although her issues are not noticed by many Her behavior has became so toxic that I have been ashamed of not realizing this for the past two years from watching the show as she used to be my favorite character I realize that she is not as amazing as I thought everyone has flaws but she just makes Me annoyed First everyone’s problem with her is about cat noir being shadowed by the fandom when it comes to favoritism and sympathy along with empathy and trust while she gets all of the attention also being loved by many characters in the show itself stating that even though they wanted a strong female independent character I still do not get why they have to shut out cat noir like that to be honest if you really think about it the kind of character is Adrian in the whole show marinette has become toxic even more as the show goes on I have some examples So before Marinette properly met kagami and befriended her we had seen her emotions take over her in the episode where Adrien needs help for starting a proper friendship with kagami as he has tried to move on from ladybug when she had said to let her fall she obviously had taken aback what she says stuttering but it still shows what she felt people will say this is an accident and it shouldn’t even be an issue with me I do kind of agree that I’m being a little too aggressive towards her but. The exact episode where Mari be friends Kagami and becomes her first official friend other than Adrian it shows that Marinette did not show any sympathy took a kagami before she knew her real goal. which was to make a friend she tried to make amends with marinette despite their rivalry this shows that Marinette hated Kagame until she saw what she wanted to do which is still a toxic case to me they can be friends even if they love the same person but Marinette didn’t think so Also before we knew Lila was a bad person as soon as marinette saw her she had asked alya what was that girl doing with the love of her life which I found so ridiculous utterly Ridiculous we hadn’t even know Lila was a bad person except for the marinette toxic shippers or most of them this to me is proof of Marinette being a toxic annoying person and character she is so poorly written in my opinion I hated the fact that I realize this after over two years Also while her attention is being only drawn to Adrian we see in the episode where Luka got his miraculous and viperion That Adrian has took it as an opportunity before him we see that ladybug has said cats are nothing but trouble when cat noir hadnt arrived which proves that she does not care about anything when she has Adrian even when he continues trying to confess to her or be romantically related or step up his game she gets distracted as soon as he starts she’s too mesmerized by him. Adrien has some fault in this but it’s mostly marinette In the New York special we see how she Lost her trust to cat noir a while when he has came into New York although wasn’t his fault completely as his father has change his mind as soon as he heard of a possibility of getting a miraculous she lost trust fast. Some people had felt bad for Adrian but not as many as a marinette which I think wasn’t necessary she had more fault then adrien This is Small Proof that she didn’t have much trust to begin with even if she didn’t realize it she still cannot stop her feelings I think the scene where adrien has left New York is a very well done scripted one as marinette does deserve pain the whole show we don’t see or feel much heart, break is hard but she deserves physical pain rather than mentally Adrien is a real depressing matter character as I don’t see why the fandom favors her with her toxic personality this proves that the real kind of person in the whole show is none other than Adrian as I don’t even hate nor despise Lila or Chloe I have grown to love them by now I I don’t see any problems anymore except Marinette’s poorly written character development I do not care if she changes because she still going to be the same until she and Adrian confessed to each other or handle the matter it is so stupid how she’s going to change magically as soon as they solve this Marinette Stan’s I dare you to come at me because you guys are just blinded by her dumb character cuteness or you are actually blind :)

Yeah, no wonder Adrien said that Kagami, maybe it’s because you were trying to force him into kissing you, HM?! She also glares at Marinetfe (as seen in Animeastro). She’s only portrayed in a few episodes, and the episodes she is portrayed in, she’s always weak. She gets akumatized way to easily. Like all Lila had to do was send her some dumb picture of her kissing Adrien on the cheek with zero context to get akumatized. SERIOUSLY?! Are you ACTUALLY serious?! I- wow, just WOW. That’s not even close to what Marinette went through, yet she still didn’t become akumatized. - She’s not some creepy stalker. She has Adrien’s schedule. So what?! She could have just printed that off online. He’s a famous model for Pete’s sake, people are bound to follow him. And even if she didn’t print it off online, she goes to the same school as him. She doesn’t need to stalk him to know his schedule. They have most of the same classes. The only thing that she doesn’t have is fencing, but if she has an after school program or just waits, she could have seen Adrien come out of the fencing class at a certain time. Again, knowing what someone does at a specific time doesn’t translate to stalking them. Also, they made her like that for comedic purposes. If you can’t take a joke, then fine. She also has pictures of him up on her walls. Yeah? And your point is...? He’s her crush, it makes sense. You can have pictures of someone or something you like in your room. - About the Puppeteer 2 scene, when she said “it even smells like him” that was just an observation. Like bruh, Adrien hugs her. If he smells like cologne or something, Marinette would be bound to smell that. She has a nose. And it’s not creepy that she’s admiring him. He’s. Her. CRUSH. Jeez. And when she tried to kiss him, she didn’t even know it was the real Adrien. She would have never have done that if she knew it was Adrien. In fact, it’s Adrien’s fault for creating the stupid prank in the first place. (I love Adrien don’t get me wrong, but that was a terrible idea) Hmmm, guess who would do that though...KAGAMI.... (can you tell I don’t like Kagami yet :/) I don’t get how people can call themselves “fans” and just hate the person who the show is centered around. It makes no sense.
