The MAIN reason players are going back to MK11 is simple. MK11 has more "OPTIONS" for players to choose from. MK11 has the Krypt where you can unlock Skins,Fatals, Brutal, etc. Inside the Krypt you can go to the shrine and spend up to up to 100k coins if you wish - and depending on how many coins you spend determines what you will receive from the shrine. Inside the Krypt you go to the forge and create your own items and gear as well. MK11 has ToT/Classic Towers where you can unlock gear/konsumables/fatals and Brutals and if you want to you can use your AI to do all the fighting for you. MK11 also has the Classic towers where you can adjust the difficulty of each tower - or again, you can send in your AI to fight. MK11 has Co-Op challenge towers as well - you and your friends can tackle a tower together in tag-team matches. Mk11 has online AI battles as well. You can customize your roster for online AI battles against another players AI roster. MK1 has NONE of those "OPTIONS" other than "invasion Mode" which I find very Lack-Luster and the dumb Dragon Shrine where you can ONLY spend up to 1000 coins and you will most likely get ART... Really!!!

I also hated the revenant portraits in the roster of mk11, since the protagonists were actually the past variants, and had such beautiful skins, why would they go with the zombies. Kitana had her best skin and face model to date in her past variant in mk1. Makes no sense...

I absolutely love MK1, but MK11 to me is still better. Intros/Outros, Dynamic comic book poses after each match, slightly better body proportions and muscle tone, and epic live tower mode that’s fun. The graphics in MK1 are more vibrant, with stunning backgrounds, but at the expense of character detail. Kronika is a beast of a new villain. MK11 solidified the entire series for me and took it to another level and I’ve been playing MK for 31 years.

I too liked Mk11 but I kind of didn't like the designs. Everyone just seemed to bulky which didn't work for some characters. I loved the fatalities and the guess characters but I found the move set kind of complicated. I didnt really like Sub Zeros design and I felt sad that his ice clone didn't make it in.

I downloaded both Injustice 2 and MK11 on Xbox series S for about 5.00. These were the complete versions of both games and I'm having a blast with both. MK11 is visually stunning in its own way, but from what I can tell MK 1 has an entirely different aesthetic and feel. One doesn't necessarily have to be better than the other. They can be their own game.

MK1 is in my opinion superior to MK11. Peoples are talking about customization that was better in MK11 but tbh it all ended on different moves choosing, every single skin was hella repetitive and it was usually standing on max 3 different skins with 10 alter skins. I am glad they kicked off this whole "choose your style" cuz it was hella reminding me about MK worse age, Deception, Armageddon etc playstyle and their. . . styles of moves. . . which were horrible. MK9 finally bring us stable moveset without combination, MKX kinda bring evolved Move Styles but as variations, MK11 gave us customizanion of whole movelist but learning every single time new move just to bring this extra 3 hits to combo was damn annoying. Glad they stick in MK1 with stable moveset without extra combinations.

MK1 needs character presets, loved being able to have multiple styles to choose from on the fly. Also need friendships back, as well as pinning combos to the screen, and I dont understand why match intros were cut short and not available in towers or Invasions, all that time recording lines and i almost never here them, everyone online immediately skips them for some reason.

Mk1 has had a terrible start... it is missing basic Qol features and has game breaking bugs. The online is super bare bones compared to its competition, there arent even lobbies anymore, despite somehow being more unstable than even older games like mk 11 The SF6 beta literally had better online than mk1

It had lobbies, krypt, stable online, no P1 advantage at launch....The main gripe about mk11 at launch was that it was too grindy and the roster was boring, but it felt polished and it all worked... Mk1 has a ps1 era shrine, no lobbies, constant audio glitches, frame rate issues, black screen glitches, malfunctioning characters, poor net code, servers that are slow and inoperable in some regions.... it just feels half assed and like it wasnt play tested at all. Im sure it will get better but NRS really released a poor package for 70-100 dollars...

To address a few points 1- Honestly, I loved Ronda's voice as Sonya...she made sense, she sounded like a hardass which Sonya is...basically 2- Story wise I feel like MK1 is so much braver than MK11 with how they chose to bring back a lot of stuff and tie loose ends and change origins and all that...both solid imo 3- I love how MK1 feels mechanics wise...it's tough to master but easy to enjoy, all the new introductions such as Kameo fighters and air combat really makes the fighting itself a lot better and while I don't personally play the game professionally or anything but the amount of annoying string combos the people have found so far is insane 4- Graphics wise of course MK1 is superior and my GOD do the locations look INSANE but I'd argue that we've gotten to a point in game making that graphics are becoming much less of an area of comparison between games anyways, but I will say as MK1 is a new title and as most new titles these days are...it isn't very well optimized so...expect the game to be more stable in the future 5- As mentioned MK1 is very new so the amount of skins and customization is quite limited, but as limited as MK1 is with both skins and customization of moves or gear...the much more simplistic approach is a breath of fresh air after MKX and MK11 had moves tied to variations and simply too many skins to care about...what MK1 lacks in amount (so far), it makes up for in QUALITY 6- I love the invasions mode, it is a tad repetitive but it's certainly refreshing to have these changing maps...I don't miss the Krypt as much as I thought I would but the shrine is...not awesome... I agree with ALL of the honorable mentions...specially pinning combos...like come on NRS...really...

MK1 is more "fun" than MK11. MK11 is objectively better and more "fair". When people say MK1 is better than MK11 they are only talking about combos, thats it. MK1 has more freedom in combos, thats it. It was worse defensive options, worse frames, worse movement, worse chip damage, worse knockback, its worse in nearly every other aspect other than combos. Ask DNF Duel what happens when you have FUN BUT UNFAIR gameplay with little to no defensive options, DOESNT MATTER HOW FUN IT IS, IF ITS UNFAIR (40-60%+ combos off nasty cheap mixups and loops) people arent gonna play it. And the Mortal Kombat playerbase is already known for being the community that completely drops the game after a month. The longer time goes on, the worse MK1 is gonna look and the better MK11 is gonna look.

I find a lot of the stuff people miss from MK11 I just... don't care about. Like yeah, customization was neat and exploring the Krypt is always a welcome addition, but none of that was able to keep me from dropping the game about a year in. I tinkered with stuff for a bit but the meat and potatoes of a game is always gonna be the gameplay for me, which was just so limited and infuriating (canned combos, armor flip-outs punishing you for LANDING A HIT and otherwise having poultry defensive options in a game of flowcharts, etc). Kameos, armored moves coming back, breakers, and aerial kombat just feels so much more satisfying. MK1 obviously has a TON of problems right now (no lobbies/rooms, P1 advantage, a general lack of content overall) but I can actually see myself playing it for it's whole (likely 4 year) lifecycle just off the gameplay alone, and I doubt the QoL stuff isn't gonna get fixed. Helps that the story is, while not perfect, just a lot of fun and a breath of fresh air.

I dislike the clash intro in MK1, they had a good thing going for mkx, injustice 2 and mk11. They just needed to go more in depth on that and not reduce it.

MK10 and 11 has stage elements that can be utilized for extra damage. random people's corpse lying about? yeet it to the opponent. even in mk10 (if i'm not mistaken), there's an old lady which you can throw at the enemy, resulting in a brutality. it would be cooler if MK1 can implement it again in the game

I only had a few issues with mk 11 first was the breakaway system, the game should have just used the basic combo break like Mkx and now mk1, second the crushing blow system made certain characters like jax hopeless after they were used. Mk 11 just needed some ariel play too and small strings like mk 1 has for launchers.

Yes unfortunately mk11 is better IMO. You have gear at leadt and more skins. Plus i just hate how this new timeline dumbed down so many character. Shao rain and Havik being jobbers is reallu annoying to me. I feel like there isnt really any powerfuk characters anymore story/lore wise. I love the graphics and roster of MK1 but i was hoping for more. Be sick to customize characters like Reptike and Havik like you can in MK11

There's simply less in MK1 than there was in MK11. MK11 already had Kameos, they were one of the many consumables in Towers of Time. Instead of having a Krypt and Towers they just squished the two into Invasion. There's less customizing your character as well.

Personally I like 11 better. But it's somewhat skewed. I'm not a competitive player I'm very casual and I'm more interested in what I can do offline. MK 11 had more content for a player like me at launch. I thought towers of time was grindy, but invasion mode makes me miss them. I can't stand this game mode and it seems to be the primary offline game mode to unlock anything. I'm really hoping something else can step in and ease this tediousness. But otherwise if we compare the two games now then we are comparing MK-11 after tons of content drops between story expansions and character packs. So it has a skewed advantage But I like some things better in MK1 aside from just personal preference. I think the story mode is better even though the end of it still gets pretty off the rails. And I think the roster is more interesting even if I don't like a lot of the changes to the lore on my favorite characters. MK 11 still tried to shove a lot of the new characters from MKX into the forefront and neither them nor did a lot of the new characters specifically to 11 actually really land with me as being as interesting as the pre-existing characters So MK1 might have done some changes I'm not a fan of however it has a nice variety in the roster and everybody on the roster is already somebody pretty interesting from the series lore prior Fighting wise, I don't know there are things I like about each and I haven't really decided which I ultimately prefer MK1 could definitely be one of my favorite Mortal Kombat games, as of right now however it's definitely not. But it probably sits at about number four or five.

I don't care what people said, landing a Krushing Blow give me much more satisfaction than any type of Fatal Blow/ X-ray. It's just feel so cinematic and earned. And MK11 has much better face models. MK1 faces look so generic and even downgraded for some (looking at you, Sindel and Kitana). For me, Mk11 is much more enjoyable and I'm in no hurry getting MK1, in fact, I would be fine with skipping mk1

I love customization in games, and 11 had that in spades. But if we’re talking purely gameplay which is what really matters 11 was garbage. I the game felt slow, and combos felt restricted. Mk1 fixes all that and just feels way better to play anyways plus the game just came out so once it’s updated and starts to get fixed it’ll be In a much better state.

Honestly the one thing about MK1 that I don't like too much is how the story's plot became ***Spoilers*** Armageddon but with the multiverse. I would have preferred if the story stayed slightly grounded within the new era. Just to show that even Liu Kang's foresight cannot alter the course of everyone's destiny. But with there being a young Hanzo Hasashi, I wonder if they'll do another story mode add on later? Titan Havik seems to be... a menace. Or will they wait for the sequel and age up the cast 5 years?

Don't get me wrong. I love the scorpion skins and I love all of the different options of skins. We have especially the classic skins from m k one. And i'm so glad that they brought the mk 3 skins for the girls back . I would like to see the skins for mk9 for Kitana Jade meleena ect... all the girls brought back as well. But one thing i've noticed that they've never had. They've never had any real oriental music in the game like from . Futal japan During the samurai and ninja era. Also finally the one thing I would really really love to see. I would love to see them actually bring real martial art uniforms into the game. Real karate gi. Like Ryu uniform Or real black , white ancient Ninja uniforms. And real samurai. Uniform. It would be cool if it had a real ancient oriental japanese ninja and samurai feel to mk1 + all mk following games.
