Keep in mind, games tend to use more VRAM on AMD cards for whatever reason. That's why you might see some games taking up 14GB of VRAM on an AMD card, yet the same settings will sneak in just under 12GB allocated on an Nvidia card.
@JonathonMarstonАй бұрын
The reason is mainly that Nvidia is just simply better at VRAM utilisation. And from my experience, it’s only around 1-1.5GB, it’s not much of a make or break, but yeah definitely still something to be considered.

Not only that, but for nvidia cards with more vram, NVIDIA cards will also use more, but in exchange WILL give you much better 1% lows, so no stuttering, while also also allowing much better visual quality. Guys I got finessed when building my first gaming pc. I was under the impression that vram was everything and had no clue what cuda cores where and how raw performance had a factor to play into gpu. So being the noob first time builder I bought a 4060ti. To be fair it is the 16 gb version but a lot of people would just argue that’s worse cuz it’s wayyy to overpriced for the raw performance u get out of the card. But … I really wanted a nvidia card and didn’t have the budget to fit in a 4070 , so I decided to grab the 4060. But honestly all the games I play run fine of it. My monitor can’t even run 1440 p so it’s not an issue rn. Since the 4060 ti is more of a 1080 p card anyway.

Day 150 of asking for zachs pc part wall art+ a ryzen 4070
@aidenlangeАй бұрын
I currently have a ryzen 7 7800X3D and a 4070 OC Windforce v2. Should I upgrade to a 9800X3D for like 20 more or downgrade my cpu a bit because it doesn’t pair well with my gpu
@JonathonMarstonАй бұрын
Do NOT downgrade. Stick with 7800 X3D, focus on GPU. 7800 won’t give any bottlenecks to any graphics cards right now, maybe 5090 but honestly it’s such a good CPU it wouldn’t be significant.

CPU first to Ryzen 5 5500 or Ryzen 7 5700x3d, then GPU to RX 6600 or 6800 XT (used)

Quick question, I have a xfx 6800xt and a i5 12600k is this a good combo or not because my system is kinda buggin

That is a Fabulous combo at 1440p if anything their might be smt wrong with the other components like slow Ram reading speed or not good enough CPU cooler

@faultydeadwireАй бұрын
There are people who think their 3060 12 gb (weaker card with 192 width memory bus) is faster than a 3060ti (beefier card with 256 width memory bus) just because of the Vram capacity.

What GPU would you recommend for 2k? For fortnite, minecraft and cs2
@JonathonMarstonАй бұрын
For low end 1440p cards, 7700 XT, for the best 1440p performance, 7800 XT or 7900 GRE for AMD and 4070/ 4070 super for nvidia, and for highest end 7900 XT, 4070 ti super, 4080 etc.
@elicope9666Ай бұрын
@JonathonMarston thank you
@enceofthewind4145Ай бұрын
Those games are CPU heavy, so a 7800xt would be overkill but good for future proofing. A 6800xt would also do well.
@JonathonMarstonАй бұрын
@@enceofthewind4145 whilst that is true, Minecraft with mods could use more vram, and for 1440p GPU does matter.
@Oierih29 күн бұрын
PLEASE answer here, think that's a good question! That's my case. I'm gonna build a 7600xt with a r9 7900x 12c CPU which are both not optimized for gaming but for working on rendering since programs like adobe premiere can utilitze that amount of vram and especialy that high core count, so that it will perform much better than using a 12gb card like the 7700xt or a better cpu but with less cores like the 9700x Am i right? Else that build is already messed 😂😅
@ITzzAncient29 күн бұрын
A higher frequency in vram can performs better? For example 8gb of vram at 2000mhz…Overclocked Up to 2500mhz performs better?

gpu overclocking barely matters

As you've mentioned AI and Rendering, can you also make comparisons for "a Video Editing PC" I want to build my first PC that's mostly for video editing and animation but I'm torn between buying a Ryzen CPU and a more expensive Intel CPU.😢
@JonathonMarstonАй бұрын
Depends. What’s your budget for just the CPU. Generally you’ll want to get for ryzen an ‘x’ or ‘x3d’ CPU, and Intel a ‘K’ or ‘KF’. Also best to shoot for a ryzen 7 or i7/i9. The overall best CPU that also not just the definitive best is 7950x, but if that’s out of your price point then a 7700x or 7600x. And, if you’re going budget, then 5600x or 5700x or if you can 5800x3d/5700x3d. Either way, for any sort of workstation it’s generally the same- prioritize cores and cache, clock speed matters but isn’t a make or break, but really anything should be good. For video editing in particular, I would focus more on the GPU. Although CPU is more important in most aspect of video editing, software on GPUs can really be a massive point. Go NVIDIA because it has more features and better video editing/ recording software or go AMD because it’s cheaper and more vram (generally). Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
@DJGaming-co4ilАй бұрын
For editing, go with an intel CPU that has integrated graphics
@drew262629 күн бұрын
Personally I’d avoid Intel like the plague (especially CPUs)

hey Zach, I got a laptop with RTX 4050 and Ryzen 7 7735HS mainly used it for 1080p gaming, if I want to build a PC to replace my laptop which components do u recommend?
@xBartGR28 күн бұрын
Also, VRAM helps a lot with the sales. You can't imagine how much ppl came to me saying "I have a 8GB card" or "i don't want this card with 8GB"... for non-tech people the VRAM number is often the only parameter they use for GPU choice.

what is the difference between a rx 7600 xt 8 gb and 7600 xt 16 gb . I wanna buy but i'm contemplating whether to buy the 8 gb version or not . i usually play games like valo and cs2 so does it benefit pending nearly 80 bucks more for the 16 gb version.

I mean its coming out in like 4 years and ddr5 is plenty fast for 95% of users. Just buy it know. Theirs always newer and better tech coming out. So unless its coming out within a month don't worry about it.

7600xt 16gb model is purely aimed at entry AI modeling that requires 16gb vram plain and simple. Only reason a gamer would grab this over the 7700xt would be for mods like skyrim,gta5 for example that can eat up more then 12 gb easily.
