I live in Chicago, and last year I had a very vivid dream that I moved to Arizona. I had never been there, and never even seen good pictures of it. So I decided to take a solo trip there for my birthday. I FELL IN LOVEEEE omg. I stepped out of the airport and immediately felt home. The only thing is, I have no idea how I’m gonna get there. Lol I don’t have the ability to save years worth of money. My heart is still on it so I’ll keep a positive energy towards it.

@@Rayenjay thank you so much! I applied to the position right after watching this! The recruiter said he pulled my application because it said Chicago and he’s from Chicago. He applied for the same role 15 years ago. I just HAD to share this testimony. Thank you for being apart of it. If you never made this video, I would have never clicked on it and think to randomly apply.

Did the same thing when I moved from So. Cal to Houston in 2018. I only had $800 to my name. But I took the plunge any way, things worked out pretty good. I got an apartment and a job within a week of me arriving also apartments are dirt cheap in Houston. Went from having very little money to making $23.00 an hour on a freight dock. But it's time to be moving on I miss the West Coast and the Mojave Desert. Will be relocating out to Phoenix sometime next year renewing my CDL with Swift Transportation.

That’s awesome . Stepping out on faith can be scary but that’s where all the good opportunities are. Having a CDL is tool to have in your back pocket. Truck drivers are always needed. Just keep going with your instincts and keep us updated on your move out here. We wish you the best .

I’m also glad I ran into their channel. They actually have real info & answers to mind boggling questions as well as answers I never thought of.. I haven’t told my family I’m thinking of moving out of State I don’t plan to until I’m a month or less away from moving. At times they have info on what I hadn’t thought of but I don’t want anyone talking me out of my mind. Plus the constant questioning w/no help becomes overwhelming

Hi and thank for the another video. I been trying to decide what steps to take first before i move to AZ. Find a job or house? I know i should look for both at the same time but one will have to trump, in the event things don't go to plan. I have money saved from taxes over the years. After living in AZ for a year or two what would you say is a good amount that is a years worth of cash to have do to the cost of living? Which one who you two suggest? From your last post i saw, the population is growing and jobs are booming. With that being said i was thinking find housing first than employment but would love you two suggestion. Thanks and love your Black Couples vibes. Black Love Rock!
@Rayenjay3 жыл бұрын
Hi Diamond! We’re so glad you’re here! The cost of living is quickly rising so I would budget for $2k min a month for housing costs + utilities. Depending on how much you have saved depends on your comfort. I would find a job first, and then move. Although that’s not what we did, it took a little longer for us to find employment than we initially anticipated. That was also in 2019 before remote work was a big thing. So, yea it really depends on your comfort level! It’s an employers market right now, so finding jobs that pay well is easier. Where are you moving from?

Hello 🤗 I moved from Indianapolis In (Nap town) to Phoenix Arizona about almost 3 years ago..posted up a video about it. It was not the greatest review but it was not bad.. about pretty much ,my two- three weeks of being in Arizona. I'm sorry if y'all were the type who loved Indiana.I hated the entire 15 years of being there. It was suicidally depressing. And to come here leaving a job and trying to start a new job turned out to be horrific. I haven't got to enjoy much of what Arizona offers ,but.. I will say that I love this state a billion times more than Indiana. But to move here and not having the job to go to is the worst idea that you could do personally. It doesn't matter a person's educational background. It's even more difficult. If you want to hear some things I said about it you can always check out my video. But nice to meet you and I love your videos. Congratulations for getting away from the worst place you could have been 🎉😂😅
@Rayenjay8 ай бұрын
We completely understand where you're coming from. We grew up in Indiana, spending roughly 10+ years in Indianapolis. I'm sure we know some of the same people! We eventually had to leave because we felt that Indiana didn't have much to offer in terms of growth, and yes, it was super depressing. I got seasonal depression one winter, and Ashlee got it every season. You're absolutely right about not moving out here without a job, especially since it's so expensive to live here. If someone is considering moving without a job, having enough capital to last a few months is crucial. We had savings that could have lasted us six months, but thankfully, we got jobs a little after three months of living here. We hope your situation improves moving forward, and we'll definitely check out your video! Nice to meet you, and we're glad you love our content. Congratulations on making the move and finding a place you love more than Indiana! 🎉😂😅

Thank you for subbing and glad you love it here! ☺️. There are a lot of great cities here. It really just depends on what you’re going for: Tempe, Scottsdale, Phoenix for more central/city life. Avondale, South Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, Litchfield, Surprise are good if you’re going for more of a Suburb feel. We’re central and love being close to everything. Plus, with us being super active, we don’t have to drive far for much. Yes! We’ll do a video on our investments. It’s one of our favorite topics, so we can’t wait!
