I looked really hard at this model when I was in the market in 2022. It would have been my #1 choice if not for that electronic keypad. My instincts were correct as you are not the first person to have issues with that keypad. I doubt that it was your fault that it failed.

Another problem all zero turn movers is their weight on wet ground, don't let them spin tires or you will be pulling them out.

I have a mower just like yours and the one issue I have is that I believe a bearing on of the spindles is going out. It started making noise and a tiny amount of sparks coming out from that area so I disengaged the blades and looked and didn’t see anything obvious. There are small pieces of paint chips that I assume came from under the pulley lying on the top of the mower deck. Does the entire assembly have to be swapped out? I have scoured the internet and can’t find an answer.
