Is My LS430 Snorting Coke??

My super cheap 2002 Lexus LS430 has a very scary past. If you've been watching the series, you know I bought this from a Dallas auction as a repo. The previous owner did very little to maintain it. That's why I've decided to replace the timing belt and serpentine belt as my first big step in getting this LS back on the road. In this video, I'll show you what I found that looks like "coke" all around the coolant reservoir.
I'll show you a Lexus LS430 timing belt replacement and a Lexus LS430 serpentine belt replacement. I'll also show you what pulley you must replace to keep the engine quiet and who makes the BEST timing belt kit available so your Lexus stays OEM.

Miserablee Maserati- lolz - nice one - 430 sounds like a pully - (guess) - did I tell you I have an 04 with 160k - this LS430 takes specific anti-freeze - and it has a plastic radiator OEM but you know all that anyway - aged to perfection - Great job ( as usual ) Thx for sharing Mike

Head gasket sealer is made from silica, or ground up glass. It activates and hardens when exposed to extreme heat (re-seals the combustion leak). Is that what that white stuff seems like? Kinda looks like it from here. Good news? If its working now there is a high probability it may be a permanent fix.

Maybe I missed it - but did you ever find whatever it was that fell in when you first took off the timing belt inspection cover? What is the source of the oil leakage around the lower front area of the engine? I hope the leak is from one of the hoses and not a front main seal. I think the Miserabli is aptly named, I think it has much more pain coming.

The oil pan was loose. I need to get a new gasket. I tightened three bolts that were loose in the front.

Best way to fix that is to buy an M113 V8 powered Mercedes-Benz instead, none of that stuff to deal with, just a good old fashioned timing chain that lasts forever! I’ll happily stick my my 2003 W220 S500 that has 250,000 miles and going strong.

My 04 srt6 convertible is making 850hp to the wheel on ignite e98 & water meth injection , with ported heads, ported supercharger, and small pulley swap on factory internals on the 3.2l v6 I’ve been in the 9.50s in quarter mile but I retired that car from the track 15 years ago and bought a old school promod monza spyder which I sold 4 years ago extremely regret because it was a 3.27s 1/8 record holder on an built motor nitrous ls bigtire car to now having an prostreet 4th gen Camaro that I built bye my self in a year and a half in a garage with no lift or lights only a generator
