brothers help me out with this. im still on and off about this whole nike situation. the word nike itself was never worshipped since its just a name after a greek god and not the physical self of the god. some may say that wearing something with a cross on it or buddha on it would be haram because they are things being worshipped but the word nike itself is not being worshipped. help me out

But the word is the same and it is named after the Greek god who was worshipped by people. Also if you have doubt about something it’s better to leave it. Like there’s no harm in leaving Nike and wearing another brand just for the sake of ALLAH.

He gave a mixed response.. its clothing with a connection to pagan god, its just a brand name, and its okay if you wear it on the feet and he says he wears it on his feet. This is very strange reasoning for wearing it. Either you deem it to be a religious garment (haram/kufr as per Ibn Uthaymeen رحمه الله) or you deem it as a general clothing brand which is outside of religous garments (what others claim)... as for wearing it on the feet as a middle view then this has some issues (not that the opinion is wrong) as if it is indeed a symbol of God of fortune then wearing it on the feet deliberately in order to insult that false deity seems perplexing. Technically speaking, this could be at odds with verses telling us not to insult or mock the gods of other religions so that they may not mock our Lord. Wallahu a'lam just thinking out loud.
