Very much want rerolls to be gone but im also thinking that the number of attacks should go down. One unit wiping out another unit in one phase should never be a guarantee.

40k players are considered old I normally get ask for my ID when I buy cigarettes or beer and this last time was wearing my lictor shirt and was told I could tell you're old enough by the shirt

i'd be okay with rerolls with steps. iff AoS comes out with a faction having a spell that on a 8+ give a single unit rerolls to hit i think that would be fine. cause you wil need to choose that spell lore then. choose to cast that over anything else. successfully cast it and not get in unbound. instead of just yhea my army gets rerolls cause they feel like it.

It is hard to say whether shooting or rerolls is bigger difference. Like you noted Tuesday AoS has no hide everything physically possible behind ruins in deployment nonsense. Shooting is much for limited and is far less effective in AoS but that is partially due to not rerolling every hit/wound in shooting.
