Your MCB capacity may be very high that it could not sense the fault.. or its standard inverse tripping time may be very high that it wait for the fault to be prolonged or it may be a RCCB not MCCB.. In worst case your MCB may be faulty one..

If Short circuit happened MCB should trip it is not related to ampere capacity. During short circuit the current value is very high replace your MCB immediately and use a good brand

I am a layman to understand it fully. But I have a question for you: When Chernobyl incident happened, we know how they reacted and controlled the situation, so that they (including us) were escaped. But contrary to the above statement: when things happen like above, i don't think they would have submitted correct numbers, the impact could be huge, just to avoid questions from World organization, they could have reduced the numbers When it comes to safety, you might have heard Ennore incident, where oil/waste was leaked in the sea, and we were using buckets to clean it up For Sujith Wilson, they took more than 80 hours to bring him up (not alive) Recent times Covid19 situation (virus detected worldwide so early, but our airports were open to virus in, later they closed entire India) let me take up demonetization: how many people suffered due to lack of planning in the execution, many stood in medical shops, banks all the day.. though it was pre-planned, included with a committee of experts, still could not execute properly, many died. Poor planning and execution and Kumbakonam incident.. So considering these situations, how quick they can react? how effectively they can react? what extend they can provide true numbers? what extend they can reveal situation? do you think our politician hands are pure and having expert minds to evaluate these things? what extend they can effectively execute evacuation things?

First of all Chernobyl happened because of the reactor design it self which is not used here they don't even have a saftey dome around it like we have most probably the accident like that will not happen reactors and their saftey evolved too much so thing's Chernobyl will not happen here

@@Rocky_Rocks Do u know that many countries like japan, korea, germany are using nuclear power for generating electricity for many years now and no incidents have occured so far. Because the safety has improved considerably. And we only talk about chernobyl. You have no idea on how much pollution coal causes. There is a lot of safety features added to the reactors now a days.

In 1969, first nuclear reactor was commissioned in India in Tarapur(TAPS-Tarapur Nuclear power station). Since 1969(55 yrs gone almost), only one person died because of nuclear radiation in India. That too not inside a reactor. It is because of mis handling of radio active object. As of today, we have 22 operating nuclear reactor in India.
