One of the best f2p mmos Ive ever played. Seasonal resets keep everyone even, no p2w, playable fully solo or with a clan/hive. It's still sort of a high end beta, but it plays well and the future looks good.

You have the knowledge of all your mistakes the previous season to fix, and you get a fresh palette to do it in, along with keeping all your power through blueprints and upgrades. You lose nothing you can't replace in a day, but the game doesn't get flooded with hoarders breaking material markets, and every player, even the newest, has a chance to keep up with every other. If your sandcastle getting knocked down breaks your heart, this ain't your game. For those that see an opportunity to build back better instead, come play.

I want to add this as someone that played the beta super hard the first few weeks. They had an emote/cosmetic shop that used the same currency as the gacha/blueprint machine so unless they do change this they will have pay to win early on because people will be able to spend to unlock legendary tier gear.

Depending on how big the publisher is they might not have much of a choice a lot of the time. Net Ease is one of the greediest companies out there, could easily see them replacing an entire dev team to try pulling more money out of consumers.

Reality check for beginning studio's is that after you release your game, you have to keep paying your employees. If you have a live service game, that means you don't only have to pay your employees, your rent, server costs and everything else you have to make sure enough money comes in, to keep supporting the product. But a lot of starting studio's overestimate how many players will continuously keep playing their game, let alone how many will financially support it. And the cheat code, is micro transactions. You build and finish a game. You let your best employees focus on a new project, DLC or expansion, and you teach your trainees and juniors your workflow by putting them on microtransaction projects. They get the hours and practice. Your best employees stay motivated building new things. You don't only earn money from release, but you keep a higher income the months after that. The only companies who truly stick to the "no microtransactions" rule, build VERY high quality games that basically sell themselves. Every other mediocre product on the market, won't have that luxury. The only reason GTA 6 won't cost us 120 dollars, is because their multiplayer microtransaction marketplace will sustain not only the salaries of all employees, but function as a HUGE investment into their future games. But games that have microtransactions for easy gains and profit... Yeah that is a problem that is hard to combat, because most of those games are free to play. Most issues lie with the fact that some developers are trying a rollecoaster tycoon trick, where you ask an entrance fee, and then demand top pay for mediocre rides.

The current state of the game resumes in: Play more -> Get more stuff done -> Get stronger / Play less -> Dont get stuff done -> Stay weak -> Cry. And they stayed true to their words even after adding battlepass in the game. This is the first time I was so impressed by how generous a game in terms of micro transaction and freebies in the game. The game already gives you A LOT of free stuff. And the free version of the battlepass has more worth than actually buying the premium itself. The only extra stuff you get when you buy the battlepass are just skins and decoration. The free version has in game currency! You don't see that in any game in 2024. I love this devs man.

They have that one item that is like "fully upgraded camp" or something. That is all I have seen that could be seen as slightly pay to win, but you can get your base fully upgraded without spending a dime. So I don't see it as pay to win, I see it as a pay to skip some upgrade stuff. Personally I love the upgrading system.

The free BP rewards you premium currency already which are Starchroms. Which you can save to get weapon/gear BPs from the arcade. If you buy the BP it just rewards cosmetics. Which i see is fine and they're totally sticking to what they said.

As a noob in this game i hated the tutorial. But after two hours into the real game i was hooked. Resets are fine every six weeks as long as i get to keep my blueprints im good. The memetics are easy to achieve each phase. Only bad thing is too many dormant players maybe attracted each reset. From my inexperienced perspective (lvl 32) its a solid 6. As a beta thats pretty good. No P2W. Like a horror simulator / sandbox. My first season lvl 32 in 50 hours solo. Easiest game ive played. They let you keep the blueprints thats all i needed to know. You get to start again with a bigger gun lol

This game hit the ground running, and while its hitting some rocky sections with the content drip feed and server resets (some care) but the real test will be how long they stick to this model. I love this game. I'd love to see it on Console, mainly so I can buy it again.

Just an FYI if you gonna do this then stand were the cops can see you and the detainee, you could be liable for obstruction as now the cops have to be watchful of your movements and while yes she did nothing wrong there have been many cases were the bystander gets physical or intimidating.
