I love Arcade! I often begin a track with Scaler2 to find a cool chord progression then export that as midi, then I head to Arcade to find 2 or 3 synths to get a vibe going. The biggest problem in Music Production is, too many tools, and just not enough time to fully explore everything those tools can do. My 2024 goal, less tools, but getting much more out of those tools. Love your content!

Question - do you have multiple versions of arcade open or use just one and use the midi to run all the samples ? As one track ?
@beatbuildersstudio Жыл бұрын
Nice video showcasing Arcade. I always thought about getting it but haven't. You mentioned screen recording. Have your thought about using a duel PC setup to the load off of your music making computer? That's how I record my videos. I use Logic on my Mac and then I have a PC that runs OBS and records my DAW. NDI has free tools that capture a screen from another computer via ethernet.

I might do that soon. Doing everything on a computer really sinks the long term performance quickly

If you also have Kontakt, look into the S61. Not only does it make browsing all your favorite Kontakt sounds super easy to do, but it also has built in chords/keys etc. so you'll always know you're playing in key for whatever your project is! Perhaps you're already a chord progression playing guru who knows a ton of music theory, but if not, I promise you'll love the S61!

Waste of money. There's a reason you cancelled your sub. Don't forget that! All these beat making (influencers) got paid by Arcade to lie to us about how amazing it is. Don't get fooled for the second time!

It's a shit plugin! I've been on a mission ever since realizing how bullshhh Arcade is to wake up other producers on not falling for their scam! $300 dollars a year for what? A plugin that you'll NEVER OWN that you can get the same results out of Nexus, Kontakt, Omnisphere etc. with a few effects added in? It's a huge scam and imo it's one of the worst plugins of all time. If you could buy it out right for like $300.. then I wouldn't even leave this comment. But the fact that you pay $300 a year for this and will NEVER OWN IT is absolutely pathetic!

For me it was the fact that I could record a loop that I love and it would loop perfectly fine with the grid.. but after looping a couple times out of no where the timing of whatever I recorded in Arcade would be off with my projects BPM! That shit alone drove me up a wall and within a few days I refused to open Arcade anymore and uninstalled it and unsubscribed. 100% not worth it! Especially since you pay $300 a year and will NEVER OWN IT! Pathetic!

Honestly, I'd stick to Scaler and Meldoy Sauce. This is cool, but I do not want something that's a CPU hog. I don't need more presets/samples.

Call me snobby or old school but to me arcade is everything bad about modern sampling and takes away the soul of what makes classic sampling so beautiful… I don’t hate on people who use it, shit I’ve made beats with it but it just didn’t feel the same.
@AveMcree Жыл бұрын
Nah I totally understand that.

All sampling is sampling, if you’re not cooking from scratch like me then you’re cheating stealing beats

@@nickgilday8946 people think i sample but when i ask from where they cant answer . the key is to put your self in the mindset , example create your own melody that couldve been a hit in the 70s . do it and add your drums you can create forever because you can rearrange notes like words when talking . another plus no worries of being sued
@nickgilday8946 Жыл бұрын
@@boomboombaby9140 I hear ya. I respect it. I think there are different levels to sampling and there are some practices I back and some I don’t. I’m a boom bap 90s head so I have great respect for the sampling techniques used then. I don’t like when someone just takes almost the entire melody or song and adds drums (bad boy records were guilty of this quite a bit) and I hate even more the “let’s just throw a filter on the song then put 808s and high hats” method you hear on a lot of recent trap hits…. As an example for modern producers, I think hit boy does a good job of tasteful and creative sampling. DJ Dahi is a straight up genius who will be studied for his sampling methods. 9th wonder, black milk as well. Their style isn’t as modern but they are by no means “old school” producers.

Screw Arcade! I'm more interested in the plugin you're not shoving down our throats! "THE INSTRUMENT" by Phil Speiser! Pay attention to the fact that the best parts of this beat he added had nothing to do with Arcade! That should tell you something!
