weather or not they got rid of steam workshop, everything currently on it would no longer work because of the engine upgrade. I feel this needs to be mentioned a lot more, because I see too many people thinking its the switch to modio that made all the existing mods stop working. modio means youll only see mods that are compatible, and not hundreds of old mods that wont work anymore, aswell as the potential for crossplay mods with ps5 in future. compared to steam workshop, theres only a few inherent downsides i have found: -you have to be in vr to downlaod and manage mods -cant disaply your workshop items on your steam profile anymore -you cant view recently playd with in steam anymore -download are significantly slower -you have to redownload the entire mod every time theres an update to it, as they cant just download the new stuff added. (why it takes so long now)

I like the fact that 99% mods look like a bad native quest content, running exclusively on pcvr using the latest game engine unreal 5. Shit is ridiculous. A month after the update not a single mod has crossed even 1000 subscribers. Game dead AF

@@SINfromPL have you even looked at modio? most subscribed mod has 18k, and I already have a map with 2k downloads don't look at subscribers, that doesn't mean anything. as you have to download it ingame not on the website, so the only number you should look at is downloads. in terms of quality, that literally is down to the map creator. if you dont like how a map looks I suggest making your own.

@@BritishColonist downloads are obsolete. Pillz is updating maps like twice a day adding paid skins. So the same user will download it several times inflating download numbers. The most popular is McDonald's with less than 1000 subs. To get a map, you have to subscribe to it. If you don't, it will get ereased after you quit the game. You can paint it however you want - the response from players is clear - this update sucks and didn't bring anything really new. I know you're just a pavlov fanboy.

@@SINfromPL that's just factually incorrect. subscribing on modio does nothing at all. and you have to redownload the map again when its been updated because that's just how it works. there is hundreds of reasons to hate Pavlov, but at least hate it for a factually correct reason. your literally just making false statements. now, I don't know if updating the map will add another download number or not, but I can tell you they dont get unsubed when you quite the game.

@@SINfromPL also dont use left4pillz's maps as a reference for what mods are available. all his maps are jsut ports from gmod. if your looking at ripped content, don't expect high quality.

I just miss the workshop, spent alot of time playing SCP, tdm on so trippy maps, cod/halo zombies and all the different push maps. It just doesn't feel the same anymore without all of them.

Overall update the great, but there's a few things I want to point out. Pros: I wanted to see vanilla maps played more and I got it. Big servers with 24 players runs much better. TDM with better spawn logic shifts encounters more to SnD approach. Cons: Bullets don't register hit to head when you clearly see a tracer landing on a player's head. LoD on guns and on some maps feels more aggressive. On some maps object draw is too low, which results in immersion break. You can spot how some models/polygons appear in a distance. A good amount of people can't play new update without troubleshooting.

Good video. I feel like a lot of people have the wrong idea about this update. Upgrading the game engine to ue5 will bring a lot of long term benefits and the reason there hadn’t been an update in years was due to it being a lot of work. Once shack gets the engine upgrade I would expect a lot of updates. I personally have 1800 hours in Pavlov and I play in the competitive scene so this update brought some big upsides. For starter smokes are finally fixed no more client sided smokes created 1-ways. The smokes are amazing and have no more bullshit attached to them. Another huge thing is the hit reg. The new update has way better hit reg which makes guns like the 50 cal better to use because it’s less likely that the game will screw you out of a hit. The only issues with the update is the runability, the game doesn’t run as well plus no custom content for psvr2 which sucks because all the Dave maps are terrible for snd so they should really just buy the snd maps the competitive scene uses like stockpile and add them to the game so they can be used for crossplay.

The good. Sound Prone Player models Weapon / Controller adjustment lane in the shooting range Direction fix when aiming above 45deg when using "Offhand" and "Dominant" setting input vector movement No blood / gore option (for better performance) Hand smoothing New flashlight shader The bad. Limited admin menu (needs all the stuff from the Arctic menu) TBH I think the general performance of the game hasn't changed. I get virtually the same frame times with the same random stutters on my little benchmark run around Stalingrad. So it's a big thumbs up from me.

I know modders have to get used to the new system and update their maps, but its been 5 months and the only one available is kino der totten and it is a bit laggy

The game is dead there are almost no servers to play and some modes just no ones plays anymore. And the custom games I just find like 5 servers with 4 to 15 players if you are lucky. I think the engine change is just what killed the game. The cross play is great but you are stuck playing the default maps that just burning for pc playeds that have been playing for a long time.
