I like the dynamic they had in Dinothunder its silly that one ranger always has to be the leader its also formulaic I like the fact that dino thunder broke away from that mold. That's why dino thunder is so memorable its because, it was creative. Connor may have not been all that essential to the story but, that's because, we only got 38 episodes of Dinothunder. This means that he didn't really have enough time to tell the more mature story Dinothunder was trying to tell. This ranger team was imperfect unlike the o.g. mighty morphin team and, that's because, the story was depicting a more realistic or atleast down to earth and relatable group of rangers. The first episode features the core team getting a detention for breaking the school rules it kind of sets the tone for the entire season a group of misfit teens who now have to take on the responsibility of great power. Conor is the most memorbale red ranger because, despite being imperfect and selfish he takes on his responsibility as the red ranger and gives up his dream career as a soceer player. Correct me if i'm wrong but, up to this point no red ranger is depicted having this very real human conflict of doing what they want to do vs. what they ought to do. At the end Connor has grown immensley as a person and, really is a hero. Yeah we didn't get as much screen time with him but, that's due to the nature of power rangers what we should have gotten for dinothunder is multiple seasons to flesh each character out a bit more.

just finished rewatching. i definitely definitely do agree that connor did not get enough moments to shine. but it’s more of an ensemble showe, with everyone getting their own episodes and time to shine. i wish they emphasized him more, that’s just how it should be for the red ranger. i think it rubbed me the wrong way because he got two power rangers above the other two, which didn’t feel owned. he had a great arc though

Connor as a red ranger was okay. The only stand-alone moment he had as Red Ranger was in ‘The Passion of Conner’. Even though the Battlelizer looked like ass, it wasn’t just handed to Connor unlike Triassic Mode, but it fitted into the development of Connor's belief of being a good person. However, that was only one instance and it came really late in the series. It would've done a lot for his role as the Red Ranger midway if he was the one who freed Trent from the evil possession, similar to Jason destroying the Sword of Darkness and freeing Tommy in MMPR S1 and Casey freeing Jarod from Dai Shi in Jungle Fury. Despite that his character was good, he actually had the earliest development out of the rangers in ‘Wave Goodbye’, him wanting to quit being a red ranger because it was intervening with his soccer, but decided to give the sacrifice after knowing how important being a ranger is.

You had to be there bro to really grasp the beauty of this season . When Tommy came back after a few years of not being really involved anymore it was such a huge shocker and him now being older and being a mentor to the new school only made the series stand out even more . I wasn’t watching the show for the red ranger bro it was for Tommy and the white ranger then dudes was going crazy!!!! And the Dino bad guy and the relationship with his son man shit was fire for old school abc fox kids era
