When I was entering the Catholic Church, my pastor recommended Gregg Allison’s book, “Roman Catholic Theology and Practice: An Evangelical Assessment.” A very charitable and kind book seeking to honestly understand the differences between groups. Still, to this day, I find the Baptist branch of Protestantism the best manifestation of Protestant principles, and if I was a Protestant, I would be a Baptist.

Lutheranism is very close to Catholicism, except without a Pope. They teach that infant baptism saves you. Can you show me the scripture that supports this? No. There isn't any. There are many things found within the LCMS that are beautiful, like the literagy. Truly beautiful. The LCMS truly emphasizes scripture. Sadly, they teach that infant baptism saves you. If they teach another Gospel, works, then they are false, anathema, cursed to hell. Gal 1:8-9. We are saved by grace alone through faith alone, Ephesians 2:8-9. Water Baptism does not save you. It's only the baptism of the Holy Spirit that saves John 3:3 and is required for salvation. Romans 8:9-11. Churches do not save you. Find Christ in His Words of Life. Read the Gospel of John. It's 21 chapters. Read a chapter every day for 21 weeks. Every morning ask God to give you the Holy Spirit and to reveal Himself through His Words of life. He has promised he will. Hope this helps.

@ with all due respect, how could infant baptism be a false gospel? Martin Luther, the person who codified and explained Sola Scriptura and Sola Fide the best certainly didn’t see infant baptism and baptismal regeneration as contrary to those principles. Believing infant baptism is heretical and a false gospel would imply we understand Sola Scriptura and Sola Fide better than Martin Luther which seems quite the leap to make

By the way you said it, I'd say that the Catholic view is more logical and maybe even more biblically supported.

I still can't find any biblical reference to 'praying the rosary', or that we should revere Mary like the Pope does, amongst other things, like all the statues inside their church buildings etc...and don't get me started on "mass".

Please continue, what is it about mass that is upsetting to you or you disagree with?

Where is written in the Bible that you can use smartphones? Jesus left us a real Church with hierarchy, not some abstraction concept where anyone can invent new denominations when it's convenient. Protestantism is a satanic seed against God's hierarchy. He made it very clear to Peter (the first pope), not to all the apostles.

Boils down to the sufficiency of the grace of God. Rome denies this and thus Romanism is not Christianity. Obviously, much more can be said in very great detail. Romanism left the Christian faith, not Protestants.
