Puss in Boots the last wish was a fanaminal movie, that truly embodied what I think filmaking is all about. this video is a brief look into the movie as welkl as what my thoughts and opinions of the movie are.
I believe that this movie is the best dipiction of anxiety, and morality one can currently find, with the cess pool of bad animation movies out there.

Puss in boots was animated at 24 frames per second for most scenes, but cut in half for fight scenes and other emotional scenes. Almost all animation is NOT done in 60 frames per second because you'd kill the animators with the amount of work that takes. Just doing one second of animation can take days to do. Stop motion especially would be torture to do at 60 fps.

Wow! Thanks for telling me, don’t know where I got that from. It makes sense I dabbled in animation (as a hobby) and it was rough even doing 25 frames per second. I appreciate the correction!

@jillyowisp, you probably got it from gaming where 60fps is the gold standard.

Puss in boots was one of the most mature movies for a kids show. If they keep up this work, mcu might lose

I 100% agree. Out of what’s most recently come out of the mcu I think the only movie I enjoyed watching enough to rewatch was Shang Chi

I don’t personally suffer from panic attacks but I know people closely who do so the panic attack scene still resonated with me and left me in tears. I less so saw myself in Puss at that moment and more so saw myself in Perrito as the comfort figure I want to be. I don’t cry much at movies but this movie made me cry 3 times (although admittedly the tears only came when I saw it for a third time in an empty cinema as I kind of hide emotion in public)

It's nuts that animated movies are more COLORFUL than live action films it seems. It's like the people who work on the latter have completely FORGOTTEN color theory.

Fun fact, nobody knew what exactly they wanted to do with this film and Antonio Banderas (Puss’ VA) pitched the idea of Puss going through fear and anxiety himself. So, it’s thanks to him that we got this great movie we never asked for 😅

The panic attack scene also made me cry. I used to have really bad anxiety as a teenager and I had my first panic attack at 14 because of it. My dog saw what was happening and made sure I was ok and stayed with me until it passed. She would continue to do this whenever she was around when I had them. My dog is still here today and I gave her a big hug after watching the movie.

Perrito was a refreshing character as far as side characters go he was a valuable lesson for Puss that no matter what cards life gives you you'll have to persevere through your hard times either alone or along side good friends when Perrito explained his back story to kitty and puss my heart broke Perrito had every reason to be angry at the world but he wasn't he kept a positive attitude through out his whole life.

Very true, I especially liked the fact that even though he’d been through all that he still wanted to be a therapy dog, to help others going through things. I interpreted it as him wanting to make sure others didn’t go through it alone, like he had to

I just want to say thank you for sharing your experiences. This movie has become like a comfort film for me. Although I can never truly understand what it is like for other people who have experienced anxiety/panic attacks and what it's like having other challenges with their family, it's also still comforting for me to hear about other people's stories and how the movie (or other influences) resonates to their personal life. It just makes me remember that many people out there still have a heart, whether it be with creating a Puss in Boots movie this good or just having the guts to share and open yourself and connect with others.

Thanks, when I started my channel, it was meant to be a gaming channel, about jokes and making people laugh, the way other KZbinrs did for me when times got rough. But, especially with the influence from this video I changed my channel into a movie review channel, movies have always had extremely deep meaning for me, and I’ve always been very opinionated about them. And so my hopes are that though the gaming side didn’t pan out, I’m able to connect with people through shared experiences in movies. I also want people to know that I hear and read every comment even if I don’t respond, you and every one else who has commented saying things like this have truly inspired me and my decisions with this channel. And I appreciate all of you

Idk if anyone said this already but the anxiety scenes are so convincing thanks to the animators who actually did their lesson, they researched stuff but also they reviewed Antonio Banderas (Puss' VA) who had a heart attack in 2017 and developed the fear of dying, but later overcame it and now he refers to the experience as "the best thing that ever happened to his life" because it made him revalue things and realize what's truly important in living.

It definitely is to me. The script is extremely tight and well-written. A movie like this with so many characters should not work, but Dreamworks made it happen and every character is amazing. TLW is one of the best animated movies of all time, which is something that no one expected from a sequel to a decade-old spinoff.

This is probably the hottest take I've ever made, and I should honestly have kept it to myself, but here it goes... Puss in Boots should have won the Oscar over Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio. I loved Pinocchio, it was heartfelt, and I love Guillermo, but Pus in Boots is as close to perfect as you can get. Just because it has less of a somber tone and it's not as dark as Pinocchio, its just as impactful for adults and honestly, deals with mortality in a more relatable way. Just cause it's marketed towards children, doesn't mean it should be taken any less seriously.

Thank you for this heartfelt review! This movie was made with a lot of heart, art, craft and care. And the attention to detail is astonishing. I agree about the panic-attack scene...it was handled beautifully. They could have gone for the jokes or the obvious references, but they went subtle...I loved that. They did that a lot throughout the movie. I have seen it 4 times and will go a fifth.

This Movie Made Me Cry Too. It was a Different Scene That Made Me Tear Up & For Different Reasons, Although it Did. I Cried at One Line In Particular When Puss Is Facing Off Against the Wolf in that Circle of Fire Scene in the Video. I Cried Because It Reflected My Old Attitude & Perception, & It Took a Very Long Time, Years, for Me to Grow Past That Part Of Myself. I Wish I Hadn't Wasted Those Years Thinking That Way & Feeling That Way, Which I Guess Is True Irony Since I Would Be Sorely Tempted to Wish Those Years Back

@@jillyowisp I love it since when it comes to animation the visual style can convey so much much more that's simply impossible to show in live-action without it looking stupid. I've been so bummed out over animation trying to look as photorealistic as possible. Because yeah, it's novel ONCE and then it becomes meh, and then every CGI animated feature copied that style >_
