I don’t know if they are over rated, but had a great experience getting fitted for my driver. Top notch staff equipment and company. In the process of going full bag PXG, Driver now, Woods and hybrid fitting soon, and Irons once I get enough funds. Not cheap but quality is excellent.

I really hope you also get a chance to review the Black Ops fairway woods and hybrids. Those are by far the most interesting offerings in PXG’s whole lineup right now, in my opinion. The 3 degree flat lie angle option and the movable weights make a huge difference.

Everyone loves new driver time. With the price of them though, do you think there’s benefit in checking the fit for your current driver before splashing out?

3 or 5 Times forged. Means when the hot malleable steel is pushed into the mold, X5 its mollecules are more gengtly pushed in (the more times its pressed makes it softer) Like the (mollecule) Mizuno Grain Flow tag. As opposed to casting, when all the mollecules line up perpendicular to the outer faces. Hard and brittle.

There is a pxg 5 minutes from my house, but the scheduler/manager there annoys me horribly. He was super inflexible with scheduling. I wanted to do a followup so I could compare to a demo club of one of my other options which the fitter encouraged me to do. The scheduler finally gave me a time but said it was only for 30 minutes. Because I felt rushed, my tempo was off and it made the fitting experience very unpleasant. Unfortunately, I was completely turned off of the brand just because of the experience. I also did their driver challenge which was ridiculous. They kept having me try different shafts on their driver until I hit several straight drives and then said their club won the challenge. Basically I hit 5 shots with my driver and then 30 with theirs and they probably would have kept going with different shafts or just various settings.

Surrey not London. Everything isn’t in London. Looked at the Black Ops. Irons myself, I would be tempted with a lighter shaft. Isn’t the T weaker in loft not stronger?

He was referring to stronger loft compared to the 317 cavity back and blade that are 33 degree 7 irons. I think the edit did make it a bit unclear.

Over Rated not sure but over priced….100% as are most manufacturers clubs and how it continues in these so called Tough Financial Times!
