An excellent presentation by Prof. RV on Rahul Gandhi’s latest agenda; Identity politics based on caste. It would behoove the Modi government to pay attention to what he is spreading. Every country has socio-economic issues. In Bharat, caste is promoted as a “Socio” classification to highlight economic plight of SC/ST, OBC and Dalits. This gets more attention than the fact that despite caste, there is a Backward Class based on economic status, like Below Poverty Line - BPL (not based on Caste) of Unemployed, Uneducated, Unskilled people that includes SC/ST, OBC and Dalits. The Modi government has embarked on addressing this partially. The solution is to establish a program for the Backward Class, with 50% reservation for poor SC/ST, OBC and Dalits and the rest for the others. This program with Co-exist with other employment opportunities with reservation that require qualifications. The long term goal is to transition from Caste to Class. Sree, Rahul Gandhi was born in Bharat. That qualifies him for being PM.
