It's also why people got tired of him always being on top, years ago even lol. Same thing with Cena. But those guys did make that work with success, for the most part. Then there are guys like Taker who were always trying to think of new ways to stay fresh & reinvent themselves. I personally prefer the latter.

I wouldn't mind Randy winning this month in Berlin. I've always thought of HOW someone loses the title is made to be memorable by losing it fast. More people remember those losses then the "average" reign. For instance how Kofi lost the title compared to how Big E lost it. Everyone remembers Kofi getting squashed & I don't remember how Big E lost his. That's just me tho....

No I'd say he's rightly rated for one key point: Star power. True stars don't get called underrated. If anything, they get called overrated because their star power gets annoying. Cena and Hogan are perfect examples. Be that as it may, it's called the wrestling BUSINESS for a reason. Hogan, Austin, Rock, Flair, Cena, Savage, Taker, Bret, Shawn, Eddie, Sting, Piper and (dare I say) Punk impacted the business in a way that Randy never did objectively speaking. We all know Randy is one of the greatest in-ring, was a natural heel and has had a great comeback recently. But he's in that tier below the aforementioned guys, which is still great company. You're talking Steamboat, Jericho, RVD, Angle (who I'd say has a better case for being the dark horse GOAT than anyone) and so on. That's nothing to sneeze at.

Randy’s legend killer gimmick inspired many including MJF a cocky young handsome guy who insults legend. And dolph has mentioned on several occasion how everyone started copying Randy in OVW during 2007 - 2009 time. Again he is definitely under since you put Punk and Savage Orton deserves a place on that table as well.

I know Randy doesn't need the title at this stage of his career, but since he's closer to the 17th title when will he win another title if he's only role now is to put new wrestlers over? Because as he gets older, that "he doesn't need a title at this stage of his career" will get bigger. If let say he has 5 more years, is he not going to win it ever again or just once in 5 years? specially with the current format of having champions goes for long reigns for the sake of long term stories. I would hope he win it next week and lose it in bad blood, it won't harm Gunther and it could be a start of a build up fued with Cena, when they both chase the 17th title.

I don't think he is underrated. His work and his ability always is recognized, underrated imo would be if someone simply doesn't get credit for what they do, but randy does. I think problem with randy has always been not being the advertised guy. No matter what was randu doing at any point, majority of his career there was always a bigger story going that he wasn't part of. It happens even now. Only difference is for the longest he has been a constant reliable guy that sometimes he would go under the rug especially 2010s, I think other than Authority stuffs in 2013-2015 he never really had a proper run where he was in the biggest story. His booking in 2020s been much imo and it helps cuz people now see how long he has been there for and it's just settling onto everyone. I think the 18 months hiatus also helped fans to finally think about how good for how long he has been. I don't think the guy ever been out for more than a year

ive felt that aura that dolph is talking about that. HOT AND FUN is the right edge to explain that. just loud crowds aint nothing. the midwest and southern crowds get louder imo florida is always hot and then some of the midwest spots like Chicago (cm punk and others) any Ohio city (al snow, ovw, alexa bliss, logan paul, etc) is always ready for wwe or ANY type of wrestling. watch the raw july 15th it was in dayton ohio they havent been there in 10 years. they said it! it was 10k plus in that small arena packed. then watch Smackdown before this past Summerslam and then watch Summerslam. The crowds on those 3 nights were equally as good with Summerslam in Cleveland being the best. Friday Night Smackdown was also good but not full house. Rocket Mortage Center was halfway draped off so not full house but most probably went to summerslam instead or both or a pick me. ohio made wwe a lot of money in july i'll just say that. august too but just the first week. i enjoyed summerslam and smackdown i went to both i mean how good is it you pull up and drew mcyntre is doing promos in the park and you can hear him at the light before youre parking. i enjoyed it.
