I have an autoimmune disorder, and it got worse living in upstate NY because of the dampness. When I moved to California, things got better, but then rapidly got worse. Despite a ton of testing they couldn't figure out why my disease was in full flare mode. I would sleep away from home for a few days, start to recover, then find myself back in the thick of feeling awful. Finally I found out that my mattress was molded through. Mold had been coming up through my wood floors from the garage below me. The idiot was storing wet leaves and grass clippings! According to my doctor, mold isn't good for anyone, because it tends to trigger an immune response when inhaled. Like you said, though, most people have immune systems capable of recognizing or handling the "threat." Some don't, and get the allergic like symptoms, while others like myself, end up with an over mobilized immune system as a result, causing us major symptoms because of our diseases.

I actually believe her claim on getting sick due to mold. Last year I lived in a rental that had mold growing on the walls and the roof, of course due to that it was most likely airborne. I was consistently VERY sick and my immunity to colds and the flu was shot. Thankfully I moved away now, and I feel much better everyday.

Correlation doesn’t equal causation. Regardless, if it truly was the mold that just means you had an allergy to that certain type of mold and were experiencing allergic reactions to the mold. “Toxic mold” and “mold illness” do not exist.

Hayley Melissa I don't believe I had an "illness" but I am certain that it lead to me being very sick much more often. You need to experience it to understand. I have no care for that vegan KZbinr I'll be honest, but I am saying that she is likely experiencing something similar. She is however taking the issue out of proportion. I wasn't saying it was an illness, but it did effect my immune system. Allergy or not, I was very sick, very often, whilst living with mold. And being sick or down with the flu is not an allergic reaction.

I usually love this channel but this is way off the line. I have a mould allergy (IeG blood test proven by allergy specialists). When I was a child, we moved into a house in a damp corner of wales. Unbeknown to my parents, under the wallpaper in my bedroom was lots and lots of mould. I became seriously ill. Flu like symptoms, loss of appetite (which lead to weight loss), shortness of breath, chest pain. Eventually I collapsed and was taken to hospital and diagnosed with asthma and severe allergies. That was 18 years ago and I still have severe asthma. To me, a lot of these symptoms seem asthma and allergy related, especially for people with bad allergies who are constantly exposed.

I’m just saying that we don’t know that the illness in the video isn’t an allergy. We don’t know she hasn’t gone to the doctors and been diagnosed with symptoms exasperated by mould. We just know that she linked a kind of dodgy page. But surely we’ve all done that before. Misunderstood a GP diagnosis or forgotten it, googled ‘ill because of mould’ to find a page to link and have found one. Yes the page is totally bogus but this video makes it sound like mould is totally harmless when it’s actually a really common allergy and that allergy would cover most of not all of the symptoms.

I’ve heard moreso that most of Wales is poor so they got away with using cheaper housing resources in houses built between the sixties and the nineties. Less ventilation and a breeding ground for mould. I now live in Leeds and honestly, I haven’t seen any more or less rain than when I was in wales, and yet I haven’t lived in a house with mould.

At least in Finland the health problems caused by mild and damp constructions is real. For example some glues used in material interact with water and the small particles will go through even white blood cells. And white blood cells are vital to immune system. Not all molds are toxic but some spieces spores can cause chronic fatigue, flu-like-symptoms, joint pain and so on. But to really find out whether a building has mold is to take a mold dog. Yes some lab tests are great but they can't test every square mm. The test of this company... that's some BS. 😁

Mold sickness is a huge thing here in finland. It's everywhere. Schools and workplaces are being shut down because workers and students are ill. It's constantly in the news, some high profile doctors say it's a thing that can be debilitating for the rest of your life and some that it doesn't exist. It's a difficult thing. I personally know many people whose lives have been absolutely ruined by "mold sickness". They can't find a place to live, move constantly and throw everything they own away out of fear. It's crazy that when I Google this in finnish, I get very few trustworthy articles talking about this. Just tabloids spreading fear. There really should be more official sources on the topic. If I remember right, indoors air sicknesses are more common in Finland than the rest of Europe. But even we don't have proof that it actually exists....

I’m from Finland here and I’d like to clarify something. It’s not about the mold, it’s about bad quality of indoor air in the buildings. That is because the buildings are built wrong way. ‘Sisäilmaongelmat’ (=problems with the indoor air) isn’t because of mold (mold can have a role though).
@fiikahlo
@fiikahlo 6 жыл бұрын
hemmuu1 indoor air quality is different than mold illness, and yes I'm talking about mold illness. (Just google mold school in finnish) It's said that mold illness causes autoimmune diseases, multiple chemical sensitivity, extreme sensitization to mold, basically anything you can put a name to can be "caused" by it. One way it causes problems is that the people think that wherever they go, all the houses have mold even if they can't find it and because of that they can't find a place to stay because they feel ill everywhere. Bad indoors air quality does not carry out symptoms long after the exposure has ceased but mold exposure is believed to cause life ruining and lifelong problems. Edit: Just to clarify, I don't think it exists, but have a lot of personal experiences of people around me "having mold illness", and I'm talking from their perspective, not the scientific one.

Toxic mold really is an actual thing and I know this because it happened to me. I'm not sure what happened to Raw Alignment and Hawaii, but I do know toxic mold happens and it is scary. My symptoms were neurological. I was having migraines at first, and they were diagnosed as tension headaches. I then began to have sinus issues as well as itchy ears, eyes, face and nose. I never in my wildest dreams would have thought of toxic mold. I had so many tests done on so many parts of my body. I live in California and I was finally sent to one of the world's top neurologists at Loma Linda Hospital. He first requested my home be tested my home came back negative of any toxins. Finally he requested my work be tested and that's where it all came together and made sense. I work a Mon-Fri job. On Sat, I would start to feel okay and Sun would be pretty normal. Monday back to work and symptoms would arise again. It got to a point where even on the weekends symptoms persisted. My job office walls were full of mold and unfortunately mold I happened to be allergic to. This mold was toxic to me, but not others. I left my job and six months later I became symptom free. The only side effect I suffer is a migraine here or there. I am one of the lucky ones, there are people who have worse symptoms that never go away.

I know in the UK mold and "damp" (due to the low sunlight and frequent rain) are big issues that you hear about a lot (not necassily these "illnesses" but it's just something that they are very vigilant about in terms of housing conditions). However usually the mold and damp is treated as the problem to be remedied immediately rather than testing someone for mold poisoning or illness

I don't think this video takes mould seriously enough. My friend and his brother both get SEVERE asthma when exposed to a mouldy environment and has to be hospitalised in intensive care for weeks after - they are in there 30's not children. Also mould exposure is like cigarette smoke in that some people can genetically tolerate more than others. Some people can smoke like chimneys and live to their 90's. Other people get lung cancer very quickly. That doesn't mean the ones with lung cancer are making it up or its in their heads. Mould is similar with genetic suspectibility. For example, people with the MTHFR gene can not detox mould as much as regular people which is why some people get sick and others don't in the same environment.

She talked about the effect on asthma or allergy which are the two problems that are very well known. It's clear that if you're a known asthmatic, exposition to mold will deteriorate your asthma. What Raw alignment describes is in no way related to those problems, it's super vague symptoms that could be anything else.

We also don't know Alyse's full medical history., which we aren't entitled to either. If you watch her videos from the early days of her channel she discusses how she had some sort of autoimmune disease, I can't remember what exactly. It is common knowledge that people with autoimmune diseases usually have a compromised immune system. So she may "look" perfectly healthy and fine, but we don't really know every single medical issue or problem she may have.

It got to the point where we lost a lot of our things to damage. I was also hospitalized and pregnant at the time. They had to hire a professional to test and clean the apartment after we left. I used to cough so hard to the point where I would cough up blood, I would get super tired all the time, and migraines everyday. I used to think it was allergies, and how I was allergic to this tree outside our house. We ended up moving, and I felt so much better. We found out three months later that my bedroom had mold outside of my window, and inside all of my walls. My doctor told me that’s why I was getting sick. It was amazing because the owner who we were renting from said that they had the house check before we moved in for mold. They found none.

I am confused. I agree with you on most of what you say, especially about the testing and fear mongering. However, do you really mean to say that there is NO causal link between inside air/air quality and illness in people? A quick search of NCBI gives over 7K papers on inside air quality and over 52K on general air quality and chronic illness. Maybe there has not been a link shown between mycotoxins in air and allergy symptoms, but air quality is definitely linked to allergic symptoms and continued exposure to them becoming chronic. Mold does affect inside air quality with spores. There are also multiple species of molds, for example certain Aspergillus and Fusarium species, that produce airborne toxins with severe effects to human health.

Even though these companies are bullshit, I have a lot of sympathy for people who buy into them and I find it hard to put blame on them. Alyse said one of her symptoms is brain fog, which means looking into the legitimacy of this kind of thing is going to be challenging because you are struggling cognitively. If you are having health issues you are certainly not at your best & I have experience with that. A few years ago my health suddenly crashed and the first two Dr's I saw immediately told me it was just depression and I was dismissed before any tests had been done. That meant I was left to solve my health issues on my own even though I had no clue what I was doing. I took one of these tests for food allergies because my rational was "What is the cost of not doing it, what if this is the answer?". That is exactly the kind of person these companies feed off. If you don't have a Dr guiding you, you are almost forced into this position because you have to blindly turn over every stone and exhaustively search for an answer, and if I hadn't kept looking I never would have found out what was actually wrong with me. I hope she, and others in her position, find the answer they need. It's fucking rough trying to solve things on your own.

Totally agree. Many doctors don't take the time to really assess what is wrong with their patients (likely because they simply don't have the time). You go in to see a doctor about something and get 5 or 10 minutes with them. It's not enough time to really examine all the possibilities so they just go with the most likely culprit. Swayze acts like doctors are the be all end all of helping people with their health issues, but what are we to do when our doctors fail us?

I do agree with you about drs. I had a similar problem where I felt sick with a number of worsening and growing symptoms for years(since I was 12, Im now 29) and drs dismissed me. I did my own searches once internet became much more accessible to me and concluded I had hypothyroidism. The difference is that I looked through real medical journals and articles and tried to avoid any of the pseudosciency stuff. Then I went to the drs and kept insisting they test me, until finally, my gyno sent me to get the proper tests that proved I had hachimotos thyroiditis! And then they found 2 huge nodules, one lobulated, in my thyroid via ultrasound and they could be malignant so I have to get them checked to make sure I dont have cancer. Have been taking synthroid and my symtoms are improved, surprisingly especially my chronic constipation which I didnt expect.

I relate a lot to this. When doctors can't help you, you have to try everything else there is, even the things you know deep down are bs. I can't really blame the doctors too much though because a lot of illnesses have the same vague symptoms, that I guess could have a psychosomatic basis, but that shouldn't be the assumption. Its hard to find a diagnosis. I wish more doctors wouldn't feel so ashamed to just tell the patients they don't know what is wrong or how to help them instead of just discrediting them. And just around the corner are a bunch of naturopaths to make up all these things that are wrong with you and sell you teas which end up making you sicker. I'm sure many of them have good intentions, but it's just a lose lose situation for the patients.. sorry if it's too intrusive, but how did you find out what was wrong and what was it?

Its a thing, lol. My brother's old place had mold in the carpets. After a while, he constantly had a cough and a runny nose. Once he moved back home, he was symptom free after a month. Mold spores are very resistant to treatments and survive well in a lot of conditions. If you think bacteria is bad, mold is a demon. Fungus is also terrible.

Lea Glasnović right but in swayzes in depth reasoning as to why it isn’t mold illness, she failed to try to give alyse the benefit of the doubt, saying things like “if she believes this... and she clearly got her list of symptoms from the website.. etc” and also saying that most people who believe they have a mold illness are not really ill and it’s psychological in nature. So if mold illness isn’t a thing, where could the symptoms possibly be coming from? I would be interested in knowing that instead of trying to discredit someone’s symptoms

It took me almost a year of chronic illness to discover about the mold toxicity in my house. I was passing out, had terrible arthritis, daily migraines, brain fog so bad I couldn't drive anymore because I'd forget where I was going, vision loss, and hypothyroidism (yes, the mold started to kill off my thyroid function, and it has since returned to mostly normal). I finally figured it out after visiting over a dozen various specialists who couldn't help me by thoroughly googling my symptoms. Landed on a single article about mold toxicity, had an inspector come out, and sure enough my AC duct work was completely BLACK all throughout. Chaetomium (really rare in residential homes and very toxic to all animals). We moved houses as soon as possible, and re-mediated our old house so we could sell it. It took me about 6 months to feel normal again, and now it's been almost a year since moving and I still have arthritis and migraines occasionally. Two months ago we found out my husband (a non smoker), has stage four lung cancer. It has spread to his bones. The type of cancer he has is almost always due to exposure (usually radon, but can be mold as well). So my point is: mold toxicity is a real thing and I was glad to see Alyse spread the word about it. I am livid over the fact that I live in FLORIDA and non of my doctors would entertain the idea that my issues were related to mold. I eventually had blood work testing which included C4 (an inflammation marker) and mine was over 8000 when the normal range is less than 20. That was finally when someone took me seriously. My first dozen doctors or so never once tested for anything outside their "normal" panels.

Dude I've been super allergic to mold and mildew since I was a little kid and in Hawaii I got so so so sick in a bizarre way, only to get better after leaving - tons of the houses have big mold issues there... I was recently confronted with a highly detailed allergy test because I was feeling unwell. I instantly asked my doctor about mold (because we have some issues with that in our appartment). The doctor's reply was: yes, people can be allergic to mold but it's not the mold in the house but the mold outside of for example tree leaves slowly rotting. The mold inside your home gives you symptoms like a poison (organ malfunction, digestive problems, dizzyness, problems concentrating etc.) Thx for your research and this video!

Just adding another perspective !!! I live in NZ which some parts of has a very similar climate to Hawaii as a first point. NZ also has had a real problem in some housing with toxic black mold. This has been featured prominently in our news, and has forced government and landlords to take action as people were getting VERY sick (some hospitalised) after prolonged exposure. In this instance it was proven to be related to the black mold in their homes. Symptoms listed on NZ news website listed symptoms much like Elyses as things to look out for. Maybe there is truth here after all...this has been HER experience !!! 😊

my family recently moved out of a very moldy house (like on the walls, on our belongings, we threw out so many things because of mold) and all of us had some bad reactions and i gotta say, mold might not affect your mental state, but constantly having allergic reactions sure does. that house wasn’t built properly for the environment and luckily it was just a rental but i imagine living in that sort of environment for a long time (we were only there for 6 months) could be really irritating (spelling edit)

I once had black mold in the bathroom at my old house. I tried to clean it with bleach spray (like an absolute idiot - NEVER try to clean black mold; get a professional!). a day later, I had an all over body rash. I went to my doctor, showed her the pictures of the mold I tried to clean and my rash. She said my exema was flaring up from toxic mold exposure. I was at risk for severe secondary skin infection if we didnt act immediately. She had me move out of the house, breaking my lease. And I was put on medicine to get the exema under control again. She also educated me to never try to remove mold on my own or I will become sick again. That was the first time I got an exema outbreak and infection related to exema since I was a small child. If you have exema or asthma or some other similar allergic reactions, mold can be very dangerous! And certainly very frightening. However, I went to my doctor to get help - not some random website! Get help from professionals!

If you think you are struggling with this go to a functional or integrative or naturopathic doctor. They will help. They will make it cost effective. It won’t be as expensive as mainstream healthcare. They call it ‘complementary medicine’ but it’s really the only type of doctor who will look at your entire health picture. And yes, eating certain ways is a huge part of treating this. This is very misunderstood by the mainstream medical establishment.

I'm actually studying biology of medicine and mycology is my thing. Yes, there are no evidence about "mold illness", but we can't ignore that mold is very toxic and dangerous specially for poeple with weak immune system. Body laden dealing with mycotoxins probably will have a lot of non specific symptoms or just you will feel worse, and you can say oh it's "mold illness". I'm looking at symptoms on that website, and they seems more likely to be a lifestyle/diet/mental condition thing. Yes it is good to avoid mold, always. But 25k$? That is disgusting. Sorry I don't believe it unless I'll meet someone in person who succeeded with "mold illness".
@RandomWords5667
@RandomWords5667 6 жыл бұрын
If you were actually studying what you claim then you would know that not all mold is “very toxic” and “dangerous”. We could never get rid of mold and we shouldn’t want to. Mold is everywhere. It’s in the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat. And not all, or even most, of it produces mycotoxins. Some people do develop allergies and experience symptoms of asthma or hay fever when exposed to certain mold spores, but that’s just it - it’s an allergy to a certain mold spore, just like some people are allergic to certain types of pollen or grasses.

I said "specially for poeple with weak immune system". I assume that we are speaking about fungi like fusarium or aspergillus for example not just regular mold that is everywhere. I never said that we should get rid of all mold that is existing around us or something, coz it is ridiculous. I'm saying that we shoud not underestimate species of fungi that are attacking the human body. Some of the health effects found in animals and humans include death, identifiable diseases or health problems, weakened immune systems without specificity to a toxin, and as allergens or irritants. Is it not enough to said that they are dangerous? For me you sounds like, you are reacting to my comment out of context witch is this video or just being malicious. I never said that ALL mold are toxic or dangerous.

"It's all in your head" also known as a psychosomatic disorder. I would like to request that you don't use the word crazy to describe things like that even if that wasn't your intention it feeds the idea that it's 'crazy', disorders like that are very serious and people using the word crazy harms our attempt to get people to understand that it's not something to look down on and treat people differently for. I haven't read it, have you read "it's all in your head"? (ironically it's also a book title about psychosomatic disorders, they're not psychopathic) it talks about people who fake problems and how it affects people who actually have problems and psychosomatic disorders. A psychosomatic disorder is where someone doesn't really have a problem but they have the symptoms, for example epileptic seizures, people have them but then the tests show there's nothing causing them, it's in their head but it's very real, they're really having seizures, there's just no physical cause and the use of the word 'crazy' is used a lot in the book when talking about sufferers and how they react, they think it means they're being accused of faking it and lying and of 'being crazy' when they're not. Hopefully one day people will understand that you can get symptoms of something without having the illness.
@jzsketchcraft
@jzsketchcraft 6 жыл бұрын
It urks me that she mentions that it could "be in her head" but then uses the word crazy and glosses over it. It's possible that RA could have a psychosomatic disorder, they're far more common than people realise and I notice a lot of people within the vegan community display these disorders. They find themselves getting unwell and instead of going to doctors they try to find out what's wrong online, then end up on those websites that claim it's mould and the symptoms match so they assume they have that, and then any symptoms they didn't have they suddenly have so it must be right to them. Psychosomatic disorders are very damaging because people will change their lives, loose their jobs, get unnecessary surgeries and use medications that they don't need which can cause other problems. "It's all in your head" is a very good read if you're interested in these sorts of disorders, it's written by a doctor who specialises in these conditions. UN thinks she's doing the right thing, she's most likely completely unaware of these conditions existing and being real and damaging things, otherwise I feel she would have touched on it a little more, unless she's one of those who think mentally ill people are 'crazy' which I don't believe she does. Hopefully she sees these comments and looks into it to educate herself on the possibility because it can really change how you look at people like RA when you consider it could be real to her.

She did have a mold related illness (because those are real) and she did see doctors about it. She didn't strictly self diagnose. If you would have watched more than a tiny snippet of her life, you would know that. To say what she, and many other go through, is fake simply based off of your opinion is crazy. Here’s the thing.... she a did a live stream days before this mold video... maybe weeks I’m not sure, but anyways... it wasn’t too long before this video where she did a live stream and basically told everybody what she was going through with her symptoms. After that people started bashing her saying she was crying over something that wasn’t a big deal at all. So, in turn, i think to prove how severe the situation is, she might have tweaked the quote and hyped up the symptoms. But what happened to her was very real to her at the time because she was living it. I’m not judging. I say just leave it alone and let her be. If mold is all over Hawaii like she says it is in the video, then it can’t be all that bad for everyone so there’s no need to get scared about it. Oh and about mold creating an illness... that’s very true. There was a lady on the Dr. Phil show who became ill from living in a mold filled house for YEARS. Alyse hasn’t been in the house for long, but she isn’t lie ing about mold making a person ill. Yeah i know my source is the Dr. Phil show, but he’s technically a doctor.

Downplaying fungus is almost the same as downplaying global warming. Skepticism about the dangers of mold is kind of the same mindset that a conspiracy theorist would have. That sounds contradictory, but it's really not.

In the US we know black mold is very dangerous, this is what can exacerbate asthma, make it manifest and can kill you. I don’t think she has black mold, at least she doesn’t seem to have had the house tested. It’s not impossible but there is this paranoia that all mold will kill or greatly harm you, when many are harmless

I think her point is that Alyse is promoting self diagnosis and sources that are not credible. Alyse might have mold illness (she even says that she could in the video) but either way she is promoting and using websites that are not credible. In a nutrition class I took we used the CARS checklist to look at websites and one big red flag for me is that the website clearly has something to gain (ie money) as they are selling test kits. I really think her main point is that websites like this take advantage of people like Alyse and that because Alyse has such a large audience her sharing this website is spreading even more bad information. I really think she just wants to help stop that spread of bad information, not trash Alyse.

I completely agree with a lot of the arguments you made but on the same hand as someone who who suffers from extreme allergies including mold most of her symptoms have merit. Eye irritations, ear infections, shortness of breath, and chronic sinusitis are all incredibly common in allergy sufferers. Headaches can also be common as part of dealing with chronic sinusitis. I think while not a direct allergic response, nausea, brain fog, loss of appetite, memory loss, weight loss and chronic fatigue could result from the other symptoms she experienced. If she has headaches from the chronic sinusitis, that could cause nausea, brain fog, chronic fatigue and memory loss. Loss of appetite could be a direct result of being nauseous. I think what’s being missed here is that if you have an allergy and you aren’t treating it correctly if can cause you body symptoms that can spiral into other things. It’s the same with most illness many symptoms go hand in hand and it becomes a vicious circle. I strongly believe she’s suffering from more allergens than just mold. That being said she truly could be experiencing all of these symptoms from untreated allergies.

So I am well aware that I'm late to the party on this, but girl, You need to educate yourself better. You can't just go by what you read on google about illnesses. As someone who is currently struggling with Mold Illness from my old apartment that I lived in for 2 years, I can easily tell you that it's hard to find a legit article about how mold can really affect a person. Especially since some people react differently than others. I agree, you shouldn't self diagnose your self with anything but in my situation, I have actually went to countless doctors and specialist as I was desperate to find out what my symptoms were coming from. I had Shortness of breath, brain fog, a ridiculous amount of mucous, achy joints, nausea, and non stop rashes. I am also a competitive runner and went from being in the best shape of my life(running 60-70 miles a week), to being at my complete worst, barely even able to run once a week without feeling incredibly fatigued. It was depressing for me. Ive had blood tests, gone to a heart specialist, pulmonary, allergist, and none of them were able to help me. They either told me that It was all in my head or that I was just having seasonal allergies and since I had already moved out of my moldy apartment, I should be feeling better in a few weeks....Nope! It took me a whole year to start feeling even just a little bit better. The thing about mold illness, is that it effects everyone differently. Unfortunately, regular doctors do not understand the effects of mold as they were not taught anything about it in med school. For someone who has been told by doctors that there is nothing wrong with them, out of desperation, I'm gonna look for answers because I know that this isn't normal. The only way to find out if the mold is making you sick is to go to an actual mold doctor. Alyse did and she talked about it in another video. now The problem with environmental illnesses is that when you go to a specific doctor such as a mold doctor, it isn't covered by insurance. Why? I'm not sure. Anyway, Im just rambling but my point to you, Unnatural Vegan, is that you aren't her, so you don't know what she is going through. If you haven't had an environmental illness, you wouldn't know how it feels. I didn't get the impression that Alyse was trying to scare people with mold illness. she was just talking about her experience. Maybe she did the same thing that I did, went to regular doctors and they couldn't find what was wrong with her, so she had to do her own digging. she didn't state that in her video and maybe she didn't need to. It's not your job to try to debunk peoples situations that you have never experienced. I sure hope that you kicked yourself when you found out that she later came out with a video where she actually got tested and she talked about her results and recovery methods. Just please think about these things the next time you decide to make a video about a certain situation that you know nothing about and that you can't find all your answers from online articles.

Telling Swayze to educate herself while all you did was produce anecdotal evidence is funny. Swayze is the queen of research lol ultimately Alyse ate an incredibly restrictive, nutrient deficient diet and experienced the same symptoms as so many others like her.. which eventually caused her to switch to like a carnivore diet lol there are actually tons of studies talking about the affects of mold on people. Swayze talks about some of them in this video. What you went through is down right not oki and extremely frustrating. I can empathize as I am currently going through some undiagnosed health issues as well. You said you moved out of your mold infested apartment and your symptoms didn’t improve… you never mentioned what helped you. Swayze knows about Alyse and all her alt med habits because her job is to debunk all the claims that people like Alyse make. I think you’re coming at this in defence of Alyse because you feel personally attacked by Swayze because you say you also have this “mold illness.” Swayze never says Alyse isn’t experiencing these symptoms what she said is that the symptoms are not to do with mold illness and that it is extremely irresponsible of websites who sell testing for an alleged illness to also diagnose people. It is irresponsible of Alyse to promote this sort of website which clearing has a motive for people thinking they are sick.. again.. selling tests to diagnose what they are selling.. Environmental illnesses usually clear up when the environment is changed. Hence the name. I don’t mean to be attacking you but your type of response is frustrating. I don’t think you know anything about Swayze.. this seems to have been a one off video because you probably watched Alyse video and had Swayzes recommended to you. I can guarantee you she didn’t “kick herself” lol if she did, she would have made a video talking about it. Swayze is very good at owning up to her mistakes. All this to say I hope you have found some reprieve from whatever was going on (4 years later I sure hope so). As I said I didn’t mean to “attack” you as much as I was defending Swayze. I have a bias because I have been watching her videos for many years. I don’t always agree with her but I absolutely trust her research skills and how she unbiasedly presents that research.

And why is it sad to be passionate and spend a lot of time thinking about something, whether that be food/ nutrition, rock climbing, family, or art? Moreover just because the raw food diet didn't work for you doesn't mean it is equally ineffective for other people. I also found raw foodism to be incompatible for my own body chemistry but still accept the validity of other people's experiences, like my friends who successfully manage their hypothyroidism or endometriosis on a RF diet, and that of my athlete friend who just likes the way he feels on 80-10-10. No, it's not dangerous. It works for him. Maybe you should spend less time judging other people and accept that some people have different experiences from you.

I do know that if you test for mold in your house you have disclose the findings and if you have taken care of it when you decide to sell the house. If you find black mold (Stachybotrys chartarum) in your house or building it can be condemned and the building cannot be sold. Although I believe that's only here in Texas, I can't speak for other states. I would like to see a video on the likelihood of malnutrition verses the belief that the possibly malnourished person could have a "mold illness" or other allergies and exacerbated chronic asthma.

I mean, yes, spores from a certain black mould *can* make people very, very ill - but they don't have to move state because of it! You can generally get it out of the house (if you rent it's the Landlord's obligation to do so in Australia) but it would likely make everyone in the same house suffer from asthma and/or hayfever. There's a specific respiratory illness which can be the result of living in unbelievably dank conditions - but it's vanishingly rare even in cases where there is _a lot_ of visible black mould. You can see it. It's grotesque. The respiratory infection I'm referring will land sufferers in an ICU, there are no vague symptoms involved. I'm allergic to dust (along with many, many other humans) and I just cope by using an antihistamine spray if I need to. But this whole schtick reminds me of a woman I knew as a kid who got involved with a Quack who reaffirmed her erroneous belief that she was "allergic to the 21st Century". I mean, they really picked their mark well - because the woman really didn't want to hear that she was possibly an attention seeking hypochondriac with no discernable medical pathology (not even Hayfever) *and* she had inherited a lot of money. She moved away to an island and built a house entirely out of ceramic so she could live _with_ the fake doctor until her savings were exhausted as far as I recall. Of course, now she believes that she's abnormally affected by the prevalence of mobile phones and Wi-Fi! I give up. I wouldn't entertain such bullshit, but I know a friend of my mother's still does because she believes in all sorts of alternative crap. It caused a huge schism between the groups of friends when I was growing up. I remember THAT.

Hi Lida, I was wondering if you know what laws require that landlords remove mould in Australia? I've been living in a rental property for 2 years where the agent and landlord have been aware of ongoing mould issues in our bathroom but haven't done anything about it.
@lidahall5928
@lidahall5928 6 жыл бұрын
clairemira If it's been ongoing mould that you cannot ordinarily be expected to remove but was not there when you moved in (which is what it sounds like from your question) you may be best off going to your local tenancy/rental tribunal with copies of any written or email exchanges with your agent/landlord. Black mould is generally related to structural issues and not caused by "being dirty" AFAIK. I know my mother (who works as a Community Mental Health RN) had to go to extraordinary measures to get the South Australian Public Housing dept. to agree to fix the property of one of her poor clients who had a bathroom with *no* natural ventilation which was full of the stuff and making her young son ill. It was disgraceful. [Sorry for rambling - it just makes me so angry!] Here's a generalised article on it: www.choice.com.au/money/property/renting/articles/black-mould-and-renters-rights You are best off going to your state's Residential Tenancy Tribunal/Renters Rights Groups for advice. It sounds like your Agent/Landlord have _not_ been proactive enough. They may try to claim that the mould's all *your fault* - depends on how slack/sleazily tight they are and which state you live in as I already said... I can ask around about the legal protocol if you need. Good luck with it, anyway : )

I lived in a home that had extreme flood damage previously. It was unknown that black mold was growing in the walls. During the time that my family and I lived there, we all suffered several different illnesses that were extremely strange given that we were all extremely healthy people. My mom sent a sample of the mold after we found it to a testing center, and it turned out to be the most deadly strand of black mold. It was the cause of all of our illnesses. We have since then moved out of that house and are in much better health, but we still suffer from underlying symptoms that may never go away.

I was so scared I was dying I became depressed, didn’t leave my home for months. I came across a doctor who was talking about how he suffered many same issues and figured out it was mold. My previous rental home is where my issues started. I was there 4 months. I looked online, that house was sold “as is” foreclosure when the previous owner flooded it. I got blood test from my doctor at LabCorp, 11 out of 14 tests showed at “HIGH” reference range as 0.0-1.9, most of line were 2.5+ some in 20.0+ and Candida was at 74.5... Trust me, Mold is not bullshit. At all. You’re completely wrong.

Well, if you're malnourished, have 'inborn' metabolic issues with nutrient uptake (MTHFR /genetic variants) , infectious diseases such as Lyme disease, steroid withdrawal syndrome, MCAS, MS, NMO, Scleroderma, Lupus, connective tissue disorders -- Then YES, absolutely, I'd personally attest to my own healing after 13 horrendous years trying to maintain a veg/vegan diet.. (shudders, my bad) That a minimalistic high organ meat, ketogenic style, intermittent fasting, nutrient dense pasture raised, grass fed diet.. is MUCH more suitable for human health, for your [average] person, than the vegan or vegetarian diet by a long shot. Goodbye chronic lifelong fatigue, deteriorating jaw bone and systemic infections.. Non healing ulcers.. All thanks to red meat, butter, and raw dairy -- very low carb . I'm happy to have my life back and so happy for Alyse and others. We suffered unnecessarily and were in a 'vegan induced mind trap' for sure. Nothing against vegans -- @Misha Sunne

It sounds crazy, but it is no joke. Is easy to write off if you’re not experiencing it. There is very little research on the subject, many doctors write it off or don’t acknowledge it at all.
