For me no. In Soc his just a hospital filler for me. Rarely trades positive. I have used him with William and you learn William carries saladin HARD. I retired saladin for huo and OH BOY. HUO/William is a killing machine. Out performed all my marches.

Great video! I definitely disagree with a few points though. 1. I think the investment cost is a bit of a questionable point, since even a 5511 Nev is much stronger than a 5551 salad for cheaper. I think I would also prefer a 5511 XY as well just because of how much I value damage. 2. I think migrating back could be valid I just see migrating back as generally pretty bad. I think of Alex as perhaps a stronger invest even though he's more expensive. 3. Honestly I think Saladin doesn't shower, perhaps he smells bad and that puts me off Much Love!

Haha I love it 😂 I think the biggest argument for Saladin is the potential of migrating back, which I agree I’m not a huge fan of. I also agree that a 5511 nev is better for damage output than 5551 Saladin. I can see the reasoning behind 5511 XY, but I also feel like that’s just so squishy, although XY is squishy in general. Appreciate the feedback bro! I definitely agree with some of your points. This video was also meant to play devils advocate and essentially discuss the pros and cons. I think the fact that I don’t use Saladin and don’t have him at 5551 shows how I personally feel about using him in SOC 😂

Definitely not a good investment for everyone! I think there’s some players where he’s great and others where it doesn’t make sense to invest in him. Glad you enjoyed the discussion!

I still use Saladin as Tanky Support March. Stupid as it looks but I pair him with a Richard 5515, Full Cav march with Scola's Coin and Mora's web. He performs really well because of the Slow debuff and also, Why Richard? Check the skill 2 and 4 of Richard, it says "Troops Led" not "Infantry troops" means it works on all units. Tested with Reports. It works. Very tanky and can handle a 3 marches swarm fine with decent trade.

I feel like you can still fight pretty well with bjorn and sun tzu in kvk 1/ kvk2 it was my march for both and it did well granted I was in a C seed kingdom soooo

saladin is still useable in b seed kvks , but for A seed you should go for Justianian at 5551 he gets 80% of its value

Didnt watch the video yet. I will, but i already can tell you the correct answer. Thats a hard NO for non whale/kraken new players. Saladin will underperform a Nevsky or HQ primary. However, if you have him as a sunk cost, he’s fully usable and still works. I’d challenge anyone to pair even just a 5551 saladin with an expertised joan, and use meta gear. It still works, test it and see. But, able to work / usable doesn’t mean good investment.

@@gainzgaming1I watched the video and agree with it. The biggest threat to saladin (and boudica P) is a gradual shift to smite damage. Saladins value mostly comes from the 3rd skill and talents; 51% incoming skill damage reduction is very useful. The biggest buff to Saladin is a fictional scenario with 3 joan primes, or “ZL for cavs”, I’d actually run nevsky, HQ, and saladin as 3 primaries and avoid XY. (And skip justinian) Speed and tankiness, hiding a secondary god tier damage dealer is a long time proven model.

i would not invest in Saladin if i was a new player. Im an old one and got alot of value out of my 5551 saladin. But he has been benched for a long time now, unlike YSG who still slays in imperium kvk. So if i were to invest in anything not "meta" if i started over it would be YSG, otherwise its better to just hoard until S4+ however boring that might be

Exactly. Depends how you wanna play the game. If you wanna hoard for Kvk 4+ and have more fun there, which is what I’d personally do, by all means. But I understand people that wanna fight in Kvk 2

I was planning on making a 2nd cav march with William as a secondary and leaning toward Saladin, but then Huo was released so I waited until we learned how good he was and he is expectedly better than Saladin since he’s a new Gen commander

@gainzgaming1 Yes each at 5551. I also have the Nevsky Joan combo. I don't have enough gold heads for Huo. I'm working on two other marches needs. Cavs have to wait. Saladin is tanky enough to let William do his work.

Yes i have a question what the hell are you still doing there if you cant even train more troops cause your're at your power limit at only 77mil really? It blows my mind how these kingdoms leadership micro manage other peoples accounts its getting out of control. In general micro managing anything brings tension, negativity and stress to the environment. It that where you want to play really? It’s a pretty common to request help keep kingdom top 300 power down particularly T5 training -best to train pre kvk event

@@dgips455 I understand that I get kd trying to keep power low but in his KD they assign you your power that's just going to far he could just forget about weekly rewards or gh events or others. It's just not fun and especially that it's Gainz we're talking about. To me there's other ways this giving people cap power is to much just my opinion.

I can understand where you’re coming from. My cap is 80mil power and we just registered for HA Kvk. My previous cap was 94mil power due to contribution in the previous Kvk, but I had very little stats last Kvk due to bad timing of fights and overall lack of fighting. Above all, I value the kingdom and its leadership and as someone who has been in their shoes, I understand how important power caps are based off contribution. It allows the kingdom to stay at a lower seed and avoid imperium as well as opens up the ability to bring in more fighters to help the kingdom out. If I was asked to stay below 60mil power it would be a different circumstance.
