Is Salma Agha the illegitimate child of the Kapoor family? |

After getting the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card, actress Salma Agha of the film Nikaah is now planning to work in India again.
Several generations of Salma Agha, who has been a British citizen till now, have been associated with Hindi films. She is related to Raj Kapoor's family.
She says that this is our fourth generation in films. The first film Heer Ranjha was made in the 30s. In it, my maternal grandfather Jugal Kishore Mehra played the role of Ranjha and my maternal grandmother played the role of Heer.
My maternal grandfather was Prithvi Raj Kapoor's maternal uncle. Prithvi Raj Kapoor's mother and my maternal grandfather were real siblings. My mother had worked in AK Kardar's famous film 'Shahjahan' which had a famous song like 'Jab Dil Hi Toot Gaya To Jee Ke Kya Karenge'. Now my daughter has worked in 'Aurangzeb'.
Salma Agha said that my mother was born in Amritsar. My father had a bar in Amritsar. He was of Iranian origin. I spent my childhood in India. But I studied in London.
My father was in the dry fruits business. He used to visit London frequently. My maternal grandfather, father and mother had British passports. My children were also born in Britain.
Salma Agha has had a closer relationship with Pakistan
But people have a perception that Salma Agha has had a closer relationship with Pakistan. Salma says that she has worked in Pakistani films. But she is a British citizen.
On the question of why she thought of getting an OCI card from the Indian government despite being a British citizen, Salma Agha said, "It was my right.
I think that an Indian person must have an Indian identity. My entire family is from India. Therefore, there was no difficulty in getting OCI.
In response to a question about her family, Salma Agha said, "My grandfather was one of the founders of All India Radio's Vividh Bharti. The Indian government sent him to London for training. Along with this, she said that her career started with the program 'Nai Zindagi Naya Jeevan' in BBC London.
