this is why you’re not good at risk. you don’t understand or accept the rules of the game. it’s not about superiority on the field (even though SEC wasn’t represented in the CFP championship game), it about revenue, market share and 💰

What BA said makes more sense than your idea about revenue, market share and money. The Big 10 has 4 or 5 brands that can attract national attention, Michigan, Ohio St, Penn St, USC and Oregon. Does the SEC have the same or equal amount of national brands? No, they have more. So why would it make sense that the Big 10's and SEC's market share be equal?

The Big Ten has had 4 national champions in the last 40 years, 2 by Michigan and 2 by Ohio State. The SEC has had 17 national champions in the last 32 years by 5 different programs. What is equal about the Big 10 and SEC in football?

@@tfjohnson55 obviously USC won those national championships as Pac 10 participants since they played 70% of their schedule against Pac 10 teams. But I'll grant USC and Washington's from the last 40 years that brings the Big 10's total to 7 and add another 2 for the SEC in the last 32 years with Oklahoma and Texas, a total of 19. Other schools can spend money on NIL.... can they spend as much as SEC teams? Of course not. And even if they do. Are the majority of the better players taking nil deals to go play for inferior conferences or inferior teams more than on occasion? No, the majority of the top players are going to want to play at the top programs in the SEC. The top high school talent mainly comes from the southeast of the country. So how is the Big 10 equal to the SEC in football?
