Together, we'll take you behind the scenes and explore the challenges and triumphs of transitioning into a larger space, from the initial planning stages to the grand opening day.
One of the key topics we'll be discussing is how we handle selling items and toys that wouldn't necessarily fly off the shelves in our physical store. As avid toy enthusiasts ourselves, we understand the importance of giving every toy a chance to find its forever home. That's why we've embraced the power of online platforms like eBay to reach a wider audience and connect with fellow collectors from around the globe.

We'll share some of our favorite success stories and memorable moments from our eBay adventures, highlighting the unique treasures we've discovered along the way.
Moreover, we'll dive into the secrets behind our store's growth and success, exploring how adaptability has been the cornerstone of our journey. Talk about how you keep track of what you have in items to know what you need to get out of it when you sell it. Some of these toys take a while to complete and would be challenging to remember your expenses.

Talk about worldwide toy collectors or have some guests! Recently watched a collector from Amsterdam visit Texas and saw that store in Dallas. They let them shop back of store. I cant remember the store name or warehouse..but it is in Dallas and it is huge !! Full time employees doing nothing but reassembling the vintage broken and missing toys.

Some work on mics may be needed. I was getting a lot of echo/reverb. Sensitivity was picking up the smacking/breathing/moisture sounds from mouth. Supress some of the high end maybe. Not sure who is responsible for the being the sound/tech guy but may need some work. Funny I didn't notice on previous videos.

I totally respect the idea of keeping the stuff in the store rather than putting it on eBay for a monetary quick value. This is what makes a mom and pop store good nowadays when you can walk into the store and find something really good and not all brand new merchandise like most stores are nowadays

I’m not a toy collector but am a record collector instead. (Records were my “toys” growing up.) I saw some of my favorite record stores start selling on EBay and it ruined the shopping experience at the store. You went into the store and knew that all of the collectible and rare stuff wasn’t on the shelves any longer… since it was all on EBay. And if they did put a collectible record on the shelves, it was given “EBay prices,” based on what some collector in Japan might pay for it. I don’t fault the stores that did this, as they often struggled just to keep the lights on. (And some still went under.) But it totally sucked the joy out of shopping at those stores. If you can be successful without resorting to EBay sales for your rare and vintage items, stick with it!

It's cheaper than driving to a shop that's hours away, though. The seller can recoup their fees with shipping, the buyer finds something that isn't in their local area, and both are protected by e-bay. It's nice to actually get something you want instead of taking your chances at shops/ flea markets, too.

I definitely understand where you guys are coming from with your mentality about eBay and the physical store. A lot of people won’t or will choose to not understand because they don’t understand your business model. Yes ok sure, if you put stuff on eBay, you’d probably see a 4-5x increase in profits because of the massive increase in reach and availability .. but the reason why people want you guys to be on eBay is because what they see at the store in stuff like these KZbin videos.. it’s what the store has that makes you interested.. so if you post stuff on eBay, the demand will be so great that you almost need to post everything on eBay.. then your store is virtually empty and then the entire intrigue is gone. And yes, you could just sell online and make tons of money, but it’s easy to see that money isn’t the absolute most important thing with you guys. It’s the experience. It’s seeing someone come in and get the same feeling that you get when you look at all the toys that come in for sale or trade that you had when you were a kid. It’s seeing someone come in and their eyes light up and you smile because you know what they’re feeling, and that’s what’s so awesome about toys and toy collecting. You want that wonder that’s been lost these days when it comes to toys. That means something to you guys and is as valuable, and in some ways more valuable than just profits. Plus I’m sure the store doesn’t have a hard time making profits.. these guys always make an effort to keep it as full as possible with cool goodies, so if something that someone is looking to find is in the store when they come in, it’s gonna sell. At the end of the day, it’s a business.. that’s the unfortunate part of things. We all gotta pay our bills lol. But you guys are doing something you love and you want others to love it too. There aren’t many real toy stores around anymore, so it’s important to keep something like this around. This is half the reason that people love toys. The experience around finding/buying them. Is it upsetting for me? Sure, cause idk if I’ll ever be able to visit the store. I hope i can some day. But then again, i hope to visit Disney some day. And DisneyWorld doesn’t come to you.

Business question. Fan of the videos and store selection(really hope to visit someday). I’m just wondering, are you buying product all the time or do you have to limit your days because you might have a slow period and nothing is selling? Additionally, I assume you have to carry a lot of things you don’t like or necessarily have expertise in to make sure you’re serving ALL clientele. How do you do that when you have little to no interest in it, like say, Funko Pops.

As strange as it sounds I buy on eBay however will never sell on eBay again. The service charges and shipping inflate the cost. I typically like to offer at a reasonable cost but it’s hard. I consider reasonable, more than I bought it for but lower than the going rate, or sold for. I understand eBay is a business. Now I deal with local shops I found in my area which in the long run has been better, buying wise.

Depending on what the commodity is, If there is more product coming in than you can even purchase. That would stand to reason that the product is not rare. Maybe many of these products that the public thinks are rare..such as original Star Wars toys are actually more available. Just makes sense. They are probably overpriced. My collection is from my childhood. Im 63. So it is full of original GI joe and Original Star Wars. But ive never thought of selling or even talked to anyone local about what i have. They must not be very rare. Mostly i am sitting on my comics but i guess my collection eventually will age out as these following 3 generations dont care. Collectible items and commodities are very interesting to discuss.

At the end of the video, it sounds better, and then the blue light on his mic was on. Honestly if i had the chance to set up a local store and be succesful i would rather have the store and completely shut down online. It all has pros and cons but online eats up a lot of profit too with fees and shipping and at their rate they would need additional personell to handle the volume. From what ive seen they are doing super fine and still growing so i don't see why they would need to go online.

Let's talk about packaging and art. Which container do you guys prefer? Windowed Box vs card/bubble? Keep the box or toss it?

Comparing a little toy store to Disney land must be some kind of joke. The only you’re hurting here is yourself. Why bother building a strong online following if the vast majority of viewers can’t purchase anything from the store? Sounds like a wasted opportunity to actually take the store to the next level.

What are some things that have come in and didn't leave? Certainly having a store helps in being able to cure that itch..Besides the GI Joe collection that is.
