@@sylvieanddanny It was an amazing experience seeing the orang utans. We had to take the flight from KK to Tawau which was 1 hour, and then a car ride from Tawau to Semporna which was around 2 hours so it was a bit of a hassle getting there but definitely worth the journey. OK Semporna Town isn't great but it is the gateway to those amazing islands of Pom Pom, Timba Timba, Mataking, Mabul and Sipadan what makes it truly amazing, The resorts on these islands are very expensive which is why we stayed at Semporna

It was quite a fun hike even in the weather although some people had troubles due to the weather like some people got stuck on trees and the guide slipped. This video reminded me of the day. Thanks for coming to Bohey Dulang Island, hopefully we could see each other again in the foreseeable future. FYI, I was your guide while hiking and keep up the amazing work.

@@keangwooichoo6138 We didn't see too much of Mataking Island, but we did notice some plastic in the sea. Especially around Semporna. The unfortunate thing about Semporna - and the reason I'll never go back - is that all the tourism money we bring there never actually gets invested into the city, hence the unfinished buildings and overall sense of poverty in so many areas of town. The islands, hotels, and snorkel/dive companies that take you there are all owned by foreigners, so although it might seem like we're supporting the local economy, all of our money goes elsewhere and is never invested into the town and its people. Instead of Semporna, treat yourself to a 3 day jungle expedition just outside of Sandakan, where you can see orangutans, pygmy elephants, rhinocerous hornbills and more all in their natural habitat along the banks of a river. THAT is a truly enjoyable experience.

Hello, thank you for watching! Semporna town can be a little bit intimidating when you first arrive. However, everyone has been respectful and nice to me. Especially the girls on our day trips. They were very, very friendly and kind! So yes, as a girl I think you should be alright travelling alone. Also, we stayed in a hostel and it was almost empty (not too many foreign travellers). We flew to Tawau Airport (around 1h away), where we had a pick up pre booked from our hostel: The Cube Station Hostel. We stayed in Semporna town, right by the water so it was easier to access the different tours available. First, we went on the Mataking + Timba Timba island hopping tour. Then on the Bohey Dulang Hike with Mantabuan & Sibuan Islands tour You can also do the Mabul island tour (we didn’t) Then we moved to Chan Living hotel outside Semporna town to enjoy the swimming pool, and the quieter area. We went on the TAMAN BUKIT KUALA BIBANG walk. We would like to come back to explore more :)

which one is cheaper between Seychelles and Semporna?
@sylvieanddanny
@sylvieanddanny Жыл бұрын
Semporna will be. Also, it depends on what type of accommodation you are staying in and where (in Semporna town - a lot cheaper or in a resort on an island). But food and activities will be a lot cheaper in Semporna than in Seychelles. Probably the flights as well. If we were to go back to Semporna we could go back to Chan' s living (we loved it), but we would also want to stay on an island Mabul or Pom Pom. In Seychelles, we stayed on La Digue island (beautiful and peaceful). We hope this helps :)
