I only want to share my honest experience with those willing to listen so that you know what to expect and manage your expectations getting into this field. Some people online make it seem like it's so easy being a freelancer. While it can be, it's not for everyone. I come from a background with a lot of experience being an employee.

A lot of times people online make it seem like it's so easy to make money as a complete beginner working from home, this is not the case! Just know that it's possible, but it will require much more work than you think. What attracts me is working from home, its a skill that will help if i decide to advance to a digital marketing career or content creator, makes over $60k year and its something I can work for an agency and do freelancing on the side. You can advance to a digital marketing career, should you decide to do so, or become a content creator, and do more for work in this field. My personal recommendations to beginners are: SEO is not short course or training you need to know tons of things if you want to become SEO freelancer. I sharing my experience and I learned to much during last two years. SEO has sub branches such as on page SEO, off page SEO, local seo, gmb SEO and local seo and also technical SEO. Recommendation 1- Focus on one branch I would suggest on page or off page SEO or if you are techi person then start with technical SEO. Don't start all things at one time. Choose one branch stick with it untill you become super expert ( I personally do on page SEO and gmb SEO) Recommendation 2- buy a udmey course which is most up to date and have good reviews. Onece you get client and start earning then buy a good course with fb community or group. Recommendation 3- Don't watch too much KZbin videos and SEO KZbinrs only follow 2 SEOs on KZbin. Recommendation 4- Start your personal website (WordPress and elementor) from day 1. Recommendation 5- Start connection with SEO persons who can give you some opportunities for work. Recommendation 6- Start from lowest possible price (I charge my first client $2 per hour and still work with that guy but now paying me much better amount) Recommendation 7- Don't lose hope... Every SEO expert you see today has started their SEO journey from zero experience. .. Hope these recommendation or points will help any one who want Start.

I really like your recommendation 4 (and getting website traffic / results), recommendation 1 (I focus on on-page and technical SEO), and your last recommendation are very true! I've been lucky to get a lot of interviews and jobs on Upwork so I'll make a video on this over the next few weeks. Thanks for sharing your ideas for everyone.

Great question. It's hard recommending only 1 course since there isn't 1 great course, but I started with Coursera and it helped me a lot. It's not the most updated course, but if you can invest a little bit of money, then I think a second better course can be one from Reliablesoft's website. I would focus on their SEO courses (their Google analytics course is really good).
